The new sporting facility brings women’s health and wellness to the forefront

Underpinned by the vision to enrich the lives of women in the UAE, and encourage them to lead healthy, active lifestyles, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy has just received a new headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, this week inaugurated the new sports facility, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and the Mother of the Nation.

The expansive new property is located between Erth Abu Dhabi Hotel and Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, directly opposite Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, and spans approximately 13,870 square metres.

Touted as an architectural marvel and a state-of-the-art sporting facility, Sheikha Fatima emphasised that the new headquarters stands as a testament to the academy’s unwavering commitment to develop women’s sport and wellness in the UAE.

The aim is in line with Her Highness’s vision to foster community and women empowerment through sports, culture, and social activities.

Sheikha Fatima expressed profound gratitude and deep appreciation to the Mother of the Nation, for her constant support in championing empowerment and transformation for women.

The new building is equipped with a range of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities including a squash court, fencing hall, aerobics hall, martial arts hall, as well as a sports hall for volleyball, basketball, and handball.

The outdoor facilities feature an international football field, an outdoor running track, and two padel courts. The academy also boasts administrative offices, and a seminar hall that can accommodate up to 100 people.

The building also features the latest equipment, smart operating systems that aim to meet the highest standards of quality, security, safety, and environmental sustainability, as well as the conservation of multiple energy resources
