Craig has spent time leading worship in the Philippines, Belize and India, and has spent many months leading worship in Mexico with Back2Back Ministries. "It's amazing how after shoveling cement all day and interacting with the kids in the children's homes, hearts are more vulnerable and open to God," he says.

Craig’s ultimate passion is to write and perform songs that encourage, lift up,and move others to experience a life of freedom found only in Jesus.

Craig knows first hand the freedom and joy that comes from following Christ; it is his passion, and it is reflected in the heartfelt lyrics of the songs that pour out from his soul

This was the only thing that got me through yesterday (Christmas Day) - I was so wrapped in my grief that I did not realize how amazing the day was going to be for my late husband - his first Christmas in heaven. I found true joy in those thoughts - Thank you so much! Just beautiful! Having lost my Mom, my Dad, and my only brother just before a major holiday, this song really speaks to me as I feel a deep sense of loss and grief. I can only imagine the pain a parent must endure after losing a child. So sorry for you. I think about this sometimes with my Mom dying in her 40s, but the lyrics are so amazing. "you're with the Son of God", "Instead you will be singing with them all around God's Throne" and" you're with the One we're celebrating" . I loss my husband 4 years ago and my life just has never been the same. Every holiday, anniversary, birthdays even special events are just so empty without him here to celebrate them with. The worse holiday though is Christmas, oh it so painful for me without you. Your what made me so many memories that are right here in my heart and keep me going on. This song is on the new Piano Guys 2017 Christmas album. It's so, so heartbreaking, and yet beautiful.

This song should be a Christmas Classic. There are just too many people, year after year, who lose a precious person, and then have to face Christmas without them... haunted by Grief and Christmas Memories. Some, like the Schmidt family, have to do this, right after a loss upon or in the Christmas Season. It's long past time for a song for all of them.

I first hear this song last December on youtube. I had lost my Grandma & father in law over the last 2 years & the Christ centered power of this song spoke God's healing words to me. Last year I bought Piano Guy's tickets as Part of my mom's Birthday gift. Little did I know then that my mom would suddenly pass away before she would have gone to the concert. The gift of life is so precious. Our time with family & friends limited. I lost my best friend who was also my spouse and parent to our children October 2016 ... yesterday for me. Thank you Craig Aven for this ministry in music but I also want to thank the poster below, Candy Gurl - your comments made me cry, tears for sadness for our lost, tears of happiness knowing our loved one was taken up but also mentioning cancer. My mother went to Glory in 2001...her faith was incredible and her love for God unfathomable. When she was diagnosed with cancer and deemed terminal, I prayed for 3 things: she would transition at home, her family would be with her, and she would pass quickly and not linger and suffer. God answered every one of those prayers. What happened when she ascended gives me chills. As she took her last breath, the TV we had set up for her began to play gospel music! That affirmation that we were in the presence of the Lord and that He had our mother gave us joy, peace, and comfort. Praise God for His promise of eternal life!
