Watch Latest Trailer For Austin Butler Crime Pic 'The Bikeriders'

Director Jeff Nichols’ (“Midnight Special”) period biker gang movie “The Bikeriders” is finally making its theatrical debut next month. The New Regency drama faced a little drama last year when Disney’s 20th Century Studios dropped the movie, and Focus Features/Universal Pictures came to the rescue, picking it up for North American release. A new U.K. trailer for the upcoming film has arrived from Universal, giving us another glimpse of what to expect from the latest crime drama loosely based on some true events with some brief new footage.

“The Bikeraders” features a terrific cast including Austin Butler (“Elvis”), Jodie Comer (“The Last Duel”), Tom Hardy (“The Drop”), Mike Faist (“Challengers”), Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead”), Michael Shannon (“Boardwalk Empire”), Boyd Holbrook (“Justified: City Primevil”), and Aussie actor Damon Herriman (“Mr Inbetween”).

Here’s the official synopsis

The film follows the rise of a midwestern motorcycle club, the Vandals. Seen through the lives of its members, the club evolves over the course of a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life.

“The Bikeriders” made its premiere at the 50th Telluride Film Festival in the summer of 2023, and The Playlist’s review highlighted Hardy giving “an absolutely stellar performance as Johnny” and “perhaps his best work in pretty much a decade.”

Butler’s profile continues to rise coming off an Oscar campaign for “Elvis,” and playing a menacing villain in Denis Villeneuve’s blockbuster “Dune: Part Two.” The actor is quickly becoming an audience draw himself, and there’s hope that his upcoming Don Winslow crime drama adaptation City On Fire will launch a new franchise trilogy. Following his tremendous “Elvis” turn, he’s become much sought-after by top-shelf filmmakers: names like Ari Aster added him to his Western “Eddington,” and Darren Aronofsky recently cast him in his next movie, “Caught Stealing.”

Focus Features will release “The Bikeriders” domestically on June 21 and you can watch that new trailer below.
