Tara Reid 'Numb' After Split from Daly

Love hurts. Just ask “American Pie” and “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder” star Tara Reid, 26, who was so broken up by her split from MTV’s Carson Daly, 28, that she couldn’t eat and sought guidance from five therapists, she told CosmoGirl magazine. “Nothing made sense,” she said. The pair (he hosts “Total Request Live” on MTV and NBC’s new “Last Call with Carson Daly”) said publicly last July that they had called off their engagement, after having announced plans to marry last spring. After the breakup, “I lost my appetite — I was numb,” Reid said. “I literally thought I couldn’t breathe . . . Every restaurant, every food, every song reminded me of him. I’m okay now, but there are times I definitely miss him . . . I’ve never had my heart broken before.” The two had met at an MTV event in Cancun, Mexico, then later moved in together. She tells the magazine that she and Daly are still friends. “You can’t say you’re going to marry someone and then hate each other,” she said. Being friends, though, “is hard, but it’s the right thing to do.” She is also ready to move on and has asked her agent to introduce her to the hunky New England Patriots quarterback (and Super Bowl MVP) Tom Brady, 28. “I definitely want a boyfriend,” she tells CosmoGirl.
