24 Episodes 1999 - 2000
Season Ten of the popular NBC procedural drama "Law & Order" resumes the program's ongoing chronicles of the NYPD homicide division that investigates crimes and the New York City District Attorney's office that prosecutes them. Back this season are DA Adam Schiff (Steven Hill), Senior Detective Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach), detective supervisor Anita Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson), Executive ADA Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) and ADA Abbie Carmichael (Angie Harmon) with Detective Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) replacing Detective Rey Curtis as Briscoe's partner. At the outset of the season, Briscoe and Green hit the streets running, with a tense investigation of a grisly Central Park shooting spree and and attempt to trace the implicated gun to its manufacturer. Additional stories include an attorney slaying that leads to an unsettling reunion between McCoy and Jamie Ross (guest star Carey Lowell) who suddenly find themselves on opposite sides of the courtroom; a taxi passenger who perishes, leading the investigators and prosecutors to a scam involving Holocaust victims; the demise of a young man killed when two officers knowingly dropped him off in a dangerous inner city area; and much more.
