At Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort, the amenities are a highlight, with guests loving the private island and flamingos, varied dining choices, and prime location. The lively atmosphere, complete with music and entertainment, is a hit, though it can contribute to some noise concerns in rooms. Travelers are divided on the rooms' appeal, with cleanliness applauded but some decor and noise issues mentioned. While the service receives high marks for staff attentiveness, opinions on value vary, with concerns about hidden costs. Overall, the resort's cleanliness and convenient location near shops and restaurants stand out.

I was just there 3 weeks ago for the 3rd time and had a great stay, primarily because of the staff. Aruba is a beautiful place and the people that come from the Caribbean to work there are some of the loveliest people I have met in my life. I travelled with my grandmother who is 80 recently, and we requested a room on the same floor as the lobby, which was great because the bar and the main restaurant were located on that floor. The building is fully accessible with elevators and if you are like me and like to hit the gym and grab a Starbucks in the morning, they have both right at your finger tips. Now, I take almost all my meals at the Aquarius restaurant and spend most of my time lounging at the pool or hanging out at the bar. If you want to spice it up, you can go to some of the other restaurants located in the building or in the neighbourhood. The casino and the higher end mall attached to the resort are nice ways to spend your day (and money!) as well. While the atmosphere here is fairly laid back and low key, it does offer some variety from time to time to break up any monotomy when the cruise ships come in to eat at the restaurants or weekend visitors come for a day or two or if you even just want to ride the speedboat for free over to their private island and enjoy the beach and see the infamous flamingos. As for upkeep, the resort is always clean and the beds are soft and comfortable in my opinion. Stay are continuously cleaning everything! Great job. The adding and lighting of the candles at night around the resort is a great touch. It has a second location that you can use for meals and the beach. Anyhow, keep your eyes open for some of the special staff that tend to make my stay enjoyable: from the Main Bar - Merly, Joanne, Jose, Nelson, Alex and my personal favourite Jacky; and at the Aquarius restaurant, while almost all the staff are like family to me there, keep an eye out for my girls Betty, Adriana, Lina, and Gloria who go above and beyond with service and heart. Special shout out to Lourdes who always has a smile on her face and can even put the grumpiest visitor at ease. So after all this, why did I only put it at 4 stars? Vacations in Aruba itself, tend to keep going up in price and if you are like me and would prefer a few extra amenities like a whirlpool/hot tub, amusement rides, water slides, interesting decore, access to the beach in an easier manner, more evening entertainment at the marina location and don't want to head over to the beachfront location, these are missing. Otherwise it is a great vacation and I recommend the stay. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Stayed here one night to be able to get access to their private island (you can come early and visit the island if you can’t check in early). Very impressed with all the covid precautions and the island itself. Kimberly at the front desk was so hospitable and surprised us by sending a birthday cake for my boyfriend! Top notch service and felt safe with all the hand sanitizers, mandated masks indoors, social distancing stickers, and even the pack of wipes and travel sanitizer in the room. Cesar was very helpful with our bags and can as well!

Protip: it’s slow right now, so def hang out on the family side of the private island. The top left corner is super shallow and perfect for just lounging in the water. Also, only do the nature walk if you have bug spray, tons of mosquitos but really cute hermit crabs on the path.

First of all, I have to say that during this COVID pandemic, the island is doing an amazing job at taking so many extra precautions!
This hotel in particular has staff everywhere your eye can see, each doing their part. There is security around the premises asking guests to use masks in public areas, and ensuring that only hotel guests are using their property. There are several cleaning crew all around, even just in the lobby cleaning the elevators and buttons after use, all day! The pool bar/food staff are all wearing masks and offering the proper services. On our room floor, there were cleaning staff in the rooms and hallways. They were taking care of the rooms, keeping us stocked up and fully clean. The other staff were wiping down the walls, railings, anything really. This place is IMMACULATE!
The property itself is great. So many places in walking distance. Just across the lot, there is a “market” or plaza, which contains so many restaurants and shops; from a Dunkin’ and Starbucks, to Dutch Pancakes, Cuban, Asian, Sushi, ice cream and everything in between.
The hotel has two pools, one smaller, the other larger with a swim up bar. There is also a restaurant there. Just a few steps away is a small beach, which is enclosed by rocks, safe for children. Also a sandy sun or shaded area with palm trees and palapas.
Down the Marina, a few minutes walk, is a boat waiting to take you to a PRIVATE Island, open from 7am-7pm. You need a room key for each member of your group to get access to the boat. There are two sides to the island, adults only, with Flamingos (open to families with children from 9-10 am), and the other for families, with Iguanas roaming about. There is a shop on the island, as well as a rental hut, which gives you free access to towels, water float loungers, and some water activities like canoes, etc. Both portions of the island have covered huts for rent, for an extra fee. I highly recommend spending some time on the private island, as it it luxurious and included in your stay.
The other Renaissance hotel, located across the street, is the Marina view (closed at the time we stayed). It has an attached “river” flowing under a bridge into the center which also has boats coming in and out during regular operation to take guests to the island. There are several high end stores in the property, a Starbucks, a steakhouse, a casino, etc. Beautiful property, currently under renovation for rooms.
Around the area, off the hotel property, you will find several shops for trinkets, shopping, and several different restaurants. We wandered and stumbled across some amazing restaurants, super delicious.

Overall, the people are warm and inviting, the hotel was immaculately clean, and the property was gorgeous. We are so happy we stayed here, compared to the Palm Beach/Eagle beach areas, which are just a short drive away. This was more private and not so populated like the other areas. The island itself is very safe, easy to drive and navigate. Would 100% recommend this hotel. I would add more photos if the site allowed it.

Renaissance Aruba (Ocean side) is a nice property. It had been about 3 years since we stayed here. Reason for that was the service. It was terrible. I have to say that the service has greatly changed for the better. At this time, the service is probably the best part of the entire resort. The ocean front rooms are worn. They were renovated years ago and with the number of people moving through there they are in need again.

Something that people should be aware of is that the Ocean front property is HUGELY time share owners who literally think they "own" the place. These people take over the pool area all day, every day. It has an "old" vibe to it. Around 5 pm is starts to feel a bit younger.

The Renaissance Island is lovely however the service we expect from any Marriott property is just not there. Awful service even after renting a cabana for $375 a day.

Most of the Sole servers and bartenders are second to none. William, is the best of the best and makes the best Mai Tai (don't get one from Nelson, they are NOT even close). He pays attention to the people he serves. Santusha makes the best dirty martini's! Carmen is one of the loveliest people you could ever meet. Aisheline is probably out on maternity leave right now... she was so fun to meet and talk with. She called everyone honey! These folks work their butts off - they never seem to have enough help!

HOUSEKEEPING on the 4th floor during the two weeks we were there (Jan 20 - Feb 2, 2020) was OUTSTANDING! Every day they taught us papiamento. Maritza Suarez is the best of the best. Be sure when you go, you bring oversized (Costco) bags of Hershey Kisses or something similiar. This crew is appreciative and lovely and are the hardest workers in the hotel. In any hotel for that matter.

My parents and I stayed at this hotel for one week before I started back at school. We didn’t know what to expect during the current situation with the pandemic but Aruba did NOT disappoint. I highly recommend staying at the Renaissance Resort if you are interested in visiting. When we arrived we were handed free rum punch from Carmen Sanchez who gave excellent service. The place is more than half empty right now so there was ample places to sit at the pool and at the beach on Renaissance island. The entire resort is very strict about only allowing guests in and around the hotel, boat rides and island to ensure safety from the virus. Everywhere we went there was hand sanitizer. The boat rides were so fun to island and they often stopped to show us animals in the water or to watch a planes as it was landing above us! My favorite food at the resort was Fresco in the morning for breakfast. Dora was the most amazing host and waitress and even gave us tips and destinations to go to on the island. Dora always went above and beyond when we saw her in the morning and it made the rest of our days better! All of the ladies at Fresco in the morning were great. Iliana, Ximenes, and everyone who was helping during breakfast were amazing. We loved William who gave the best pool drinks at the pool bar! There was one younger gentleman who continuously gave us great service at the pool and always asked us if we needed anything right when we got there (I wish I could remember his name he was younger, always working the day and evening at the pool with short braids in his hair). The DJs, singers and steel drum players at the pool would switch off every day and they were all great! We had great service at the pool and on the island during the day but unfortunately the only issue we had was getting good service in the evening and night. That was our one complaint for the resort but we often went out to eat dinner in the evenings at the plaza right outside! The best restaurant at the plaza was Cuba’s Cooking, we even went back for our last night! There is not a lot of night life on the island currently due to the curfew put in place but we would get drinks at dinner and at the hotel bar at night and bring them back to our room. The casino was fun, however they play black jack differently there. The other Renaissance hotel is under renovation at the moment but we found their gym, steakhouse and casino are still open and there are hotel cars to bring you to and from. It’s also only about a 5 minute walk away. Overall the experience was amazing. The weather was beautiful. The beach was gorgeous and the pool was relaxing. If you’re looking for a relaxing tropical beach vacation, Renaissance Aruba is perfect due to its remote and private venues and workers who go the extra mile with sanitation, safety and service. Since the island has very few tourists coming at this time, everything is open with extra space and it is even more relaxing!

We stayed at Renaissance Aruba beach resort for 11 days and every day staff members that greeted us at door or passed us while in resort were so happy to greet us. Seriously every staff member was authentically happy to be of service and showed they enjoyed being employed. The hotel was very clean conscious during pandemic and provided hand sanitizers each time you enter lobby and elevator. We spent some time at Sole pool bar and received exceptional service from Carmen. It was great talking to her and hope to see her again during our next visit. Thank you to Carmen and all of the staff for truly demonstrating great customer service at a time when all of the staff members are wearing face mask, not at all comfortable, yet they were all so pleasant and happy. I love Aruba and have visited with my family yearly for 20 plus years. This was my first time at Renaissance’s and plan to come again. We recently stayed at Riu Aruba Palace and had the complete opposite experience. Renaissance Staff knows how to deliver excellent service. Keep it up!!

I stayed on the Marina side. My third stay here. Check in and check out was quick, with no line. My room was on the first floor, right across from the lobby and bar, but the noise level was not a problem, even when I opened the window to the small balcony. Easy to come and go, with no wait for an elevator. The room was spacious enough and clean. Housekeeping did a great job. No problems with anything. Nice furnishings. Very comfortable bed. Good sleep quality. Quiet at night. Good WiFi service. The employees were all very pleasant and helpful. The Marina pool area is nice, but can occasionally get crowded. Of course, there’s access to amenities on the Ocean Suites side, pools and restaurants, just a short 5 minute walk away. By staying at the Renaissance, you have free access to Renaissance Island with the excellent uncrowded beaches with multiple amenities. Boats to the island come and go frequently, so there was never a long wait. The location of this hotel is very convenient, with many good downtown restaurants nearby within walking distance. Good value.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance Ocean Suites. We were there for 7 nights. Of the marina or ocean side, I recommend the ocean side where we were. It has more of a tropical feel and a bigger pool/beach area. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and greeted us with a smile. The grounds are kept up well and we loved seeing all of the iguanas roaming around. The beds are comfortable, and my 20 year old son slept on the couch without pulling it out into a bed. He said he would trade that couch for his bed at home if he could. This is a very casual hotel, which we loved. There were couples, families, honeymooners, and everyone fits right in. It is not pretentious at all, and we felt very comfortable just being ourselves. I took off one star for: 1. There was a mixed drink in a glass left in our refrigerator from a prior guest. 2. The sinks both leaked & you had to be very careful with the shower head. If it wasn't pointed away from the sliding door it would flood the bathroom. The carpets were very worn and were dull/dirty looking 3. Location - I have a feeling the downtown shopping vibe will pick up once cruises start sailing again and more and more people begin traveling. There are many stores and restaurants that are closed in the downtown area. That area has a very vacant feel right now.

With that being said, we enjoyed a much less crowded vacation. We easily walked around, got taxis, ate in restaurants, found pool and beach chairs, etc. without any wait or tons of people. So I guess there are positive and negative things about this area right now. I am looking forward to it picking up again!!

We liked the hotel and would recommend it if anyone is wanting to stay in the downtown area. However, if you find yourself at this hotel, be sure to venture out and see the entire island to experience the beautiful beaches and scenery.

This was our first trip to Aruba. I booked it to celebrate Aidan’s 40th birthday. We stayed at the Marina “adults only” hotel. We purchased the all inclusive package as well. We absolutely loved our entire week at the resort and on the island. One happy island is so true.. everyone was so friendly and helpful. Service with a smile always!! We spent a lot of time at the adult pool/blue bar for morning mimosas and evening drinks. Mark, Peter, and Brihan were my favorite servers . They always addressed you by your name, a smile and fulfilled requests quickly . Jose at the bar was funny, friendly and made tasty cocktails! We enjoyed 2 dinners at LG’s . Valentine’s Day was our favorite. The service and food were exceptional. Michael and Josh were top notch! The bar cart drink specials were amazing to watch and drink. The casino was a fun experience as well- $5 minimum bets made table play fun. And the match coupons were a bonus. The valet/cart guys were great. They ran us across to the ocean suites and convention center anytime. We spent quite a lot of time at the sole bar for lunch, swimming and drinks. William and Carmen were great. Beautiful view and great place to lounge for the day, and hang with some iguanas. Richard and the boat taxi guys were great as well. Flamingo island is beautiful and a must visit. We enjoyed an outdoor couples massage here and would highly recommend! The shops and mall below made for quick and easy shopping which was nice. The whole resort was very conscientious of the sanitation and cleaning throughout our stay, staff wearing masks and gloves at all times.
My only negative personally was the food menu options at all the restaurants. We went to each at the island, marina, and ocean suites. As a vegetarian my only option was a salad or a side vegetable so that was disappointing.

We exchanged our timeshare from Starwood’s and got a 1 bedroom unit, which I would consider a letdown. The room is small and more like a suite, with a small kitchenette microwave, coffee pot, two small cube refrigerators and two burner stove. The furniture was clean but very uncomfortable. The master bedroom had a king bed with a pull out sofa bed in living room.
The staff was unfriendly and most of the concierge staff was uniformed about restaurants in the area as well as giving directions.
Check in was easy, but no mention by the staff of dining options, spa or activities at the resort. Interval International exchangers are relagated to one wing, and our room had a view of the parking lot with a substandard patio.
The pool at the Ocean villas was nice but don’t get there after 1000 am and expect to find a chair. The adult only infinity pool at the Marina hotel was much better and upscale.
This resort has its own private island with flamingos and lagoon type beach, however there are plenty of rocks in the water preventing you to walk in with ease. The beach is also open to non hotel guests at $125 a head. It was our opinion that the beach was below par for a Marriott property and we only went one time.
The best attribute this hotel has is that it is walking distance to many great restaurants and shopping. Day trips to Eagle beach made our trip memorable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, due to their beach, room and staff.
