like a depalma movie, but if you only took 3 kinds of scenes and repeated them in dreamward orchestra, reminds me very much of the blood activating moments from the die hard movies or The Last Boyscout, same intensity as in the musical cues find us at a realization reaction for buddy cop bros on their renegade task of takin down the bad guy. Hanging front and center at the Nightmare Museum. Universe smashing, language creating cinema. Alternates between impressive Hardware-esque stop animation and motel babes being squelched by a skul-faced robot. These sequences are a who's who of Y2K no-budget video girlies, including the woman of the hour Syn DeVil. We made it a double feature after loving her so much in Witch's Sabbath. She has maybe the briefest sequence of all the girls but I'll take what I can get. This will exhaust those who can't hang but that just leaves more for the rest of us <3

EXTERMINATOR CITY (2005) is a nightmarish fever dream, meant in the way that it will possibly ruin the pleasure you relate to watching films. It is absolute nonsense, far below what you would categorize as "thrash". It's a weird man playing dress-up with his robot masks attached to a hanger with a suit. It's a weird man spying on women, fulfilling his creepy voyeuristic desires. EXTERMINATOR CITY is complete bullshit and some of the worst I have ever laid eyes on.
I only got through the first 10 minutes of this before I fell asleep, but let me tell you some first impressions
1) Is this the movie? Like it just started, no DVD screen, just an out of focus shot of a naked woman in a shower. This looks like it is shot on a 2005 mini-dv camera. Who needs a strong story when there is plenty of plot? (wink, wink) This takes place in a world with its only inhabitants are seemingly robots and topless B-movie queens. This is like a Charles Band movie on a cocktail of steroids and 3 hits of acid. Weird doesn't come close to describing Exterminator City. The robot's voices are choices that were made. Then the robots are never filmed in the same room as the movie vixens they are killing. I wouldn't be a bit surprised that Julie Strain's scenes were shot in her home.
Maybe it's crass to follow up an artistically sincere, extravagantly-produced Philip Glass opera with a no-budget robot neo-noir/slasher/amateur porno with next to zero plot and some of the most unconvincing gore I've seen in ages, but... hey, I wanted something short and tasteless after 3 hours of Akhnaten, and I got more than my fair share of that here.
This may actually be one of the worst movies I've ever seen? But, also, simultaneously one of the best?
