Description
Beat the Parents is the family showdown game where kids compete against their parents for household supremacy! There are more than just bragging rights at stake – each team must pick a wager before the game can begin. What are you willing to do if you lose? Wash the dishes? Treat the other side to movie night? Use the dry erase marker and wager board to put the stakes on display, and then start the competition! Each team reads trivia questions about their generation to the other side, moving their pawn on the board with every successful answer. Reach a Challenge space, and compete team vs team in crazy, up-and-active challenge. Make it to the end of the board first and complete one final challenge to be crowned the winners – and enjoy the wager you’ve just won! This family game night, the stakes have never been higher – or more fun! For 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up. Includes 200 trivia and challenge cards, 1 gameboard, 1 sand timer, 2 player movers, 1 dry erase marker with clip, 1 wager board with stand, and instructions.

A: Each card has three questions for both kids and adults. These questions draw on mostly common knowledge. In the end, educational for BOTH. Questions range from math to geometry, books to movies. There are CHALLENGE cards for activities: guage by the side one has available, time of day, effort one must commit to. Have FUN interacting with two generations, or more! I'm a Grannie, played with our son and DIL, AND grands ages almost 4 and 8. Hilarious. (By the way, watch your wagers, our kids WON A TOY SHOPPING TRIP!)

This seems like it would be a lot of fun, but these questions are wayyyyyy too difficult for our seven year old. Just be aware this should probably be 10+ at a minimum.

My 6 year old son got this for Christmas. He didn't play it yet but my 8 year old daughter did and the questions were so hard! I feel most of the questions were more for pre teen age. I think the age for this game is way off.

Currently playing this game and one of the questions asks “What is it called when something goes from a liquid to a gas state?” And the answer says freezing. That is not correct.

Could be a really Fun game but it’s out of date, especially for the pop culture/entertainment trivia questions. I’m in my early 30s, I have a teenager and 8 year old, my kids don’t know anything about 101 Dalmatians or the Lion King… those were movies I watched as a child. My kids grew up on Frozen and Moana. And the parent cards ask questions about shows/movies/topics from the 60s and 70s! I’m a 90s baby. They need to update the cards to make this game fun.

The fact that you can challenge your children on a board game is always fun. The pros: Either use the challenges the board game provides or make up your own challenges. For example, we have bad knees and the challenge required an exercise technique that couldn’t be completed due to knee problems, so we adapt our own while still in the format of exercise. The cons: my children (pre-teens) seemed to have memorized the answers to many of the questions that are to be asked for the “kids” and they seemed pleased, b/c it achieves to their WINNING GOAL… We have discontinued playing it since they’ve memorized the majority of the cards :-(

My two boys, 9 and 6, and my wife and I had a great time playing this game together. What worked really well is that it made it a great competitive game between young and old. The kids really got into it, and we had such a great time making wagers for each game. The only drawback are the kids questions - while they are general / pop culture questions, not all kids at the ages we have are exposed to the content the questions are around. That's just a minor nitpick to an otherwise great game.

This was such a fun game. The kids loved competing against the parents. In addition to questions there are fun and silly challenges (sometimes for both teams or for just one member on each team). It was fun to see how competitive everyone got. The wagers really make it high stakes.

Beat the Parents was a great party game. The challenges made the game! It was definitely great having multiple people there. Had a great time with game night trying out a bunch of new games through Tryazon and the Spin Master Summer Game Night. We played Beat the Parents, Less is More, Headbanz, Sink N Sand, Soggy Doggy, and Escape Your House. The other games played as described. Everything was well made, had good instructions, and was enjoyable! I’d definitely recommend any games by the manufacturer Can’t wait to play them all again soon!

This game is a blast! You make wagers for each team and then play the game. Adults and Kids each have their own set of cards with questions. We played a few different times and one time the college kids played their middle school siblings which was hilarious. I received this game at a discounted price for my honest opinion. All of our family that tried it agreed that they needed this game for their home.
