- Iasmin SobralDublin, Ireland53 contributionsa trip to Ilha dos Frades is an amazing option for a day off. tours from R$ 50 will take you all day long to amazing beaches close to Salvador. the boat has live music and board service, with fruits included for free in the price and they sell lots of cocktails and beers. don’t miss out the roskas with seasonal fruits, they’re delicious and costs R$ 15. make sure you’ll enjoy a lot this trip!Written January 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The beach itself has small natural pools within the reef so waves are not a problem for smaller children.Written February 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tip: go there before 9h30 AM: water is calmer and there are lots of "natural pool" all over de place. Great for swimming! In the afternoon the waves are higher and good to see. At 5h30 AM is already clear and warming enough to go to the beach. REALLY!Written August 30, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil TToronto, Canada20 contributionsalltour Turismo (Salvador). Guide: Gabriel Aquino
This was part of a full day private tour that included Praia do Forte, the Projeto Tamar, the CAD of Salvador, and Casa do Rio Vermelho, the long-time home of Jorge Amado and his wife, Zélia Gattai. This site does not seem to permit a single review of all that, so I have done separate ones.
At Praia do Forte, we toured around the village and surrounding area, and then sat on the actual beach for an hour or so waiting for the opening time of Projeto Tamar. It is a beautiful beach and an interesting little village. Very calm and relaxing.
Gabriel Aquino is an absolutely awesome guide. Knowledgeable, helpful, and nice.Written March 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a lighthouse also which keeps the moonlight prettier.Written September 3, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I could stay hours in the water, which is warm! and I found paradisiac areas where I spent time as the beach was only mine. But that's not the only special thing about it, theres a river parallel to the beach that you can walk/swimming through it till you reach the sea. It's an amazing experience - but better to go with a local person. There's also the whitear dunes I've ever seen, and you can walk/climb it and experience amazing views and astonishing sunsets. There's also a naturist beach on the right side of the beach. And there're quiosques that serve food and drinks along the beach. The beach is about 5-8 minutes by car from the village where the houses and b&b are, but if you like walking it'll take you around 25-30 minutes through a very nice landscape. The village is around 90km from Salvador, the capital of Bahia, but when you're in this paradise it seems you're much further from any urban centre. I love this spot on Earth. And I hope you like it too.Written September 17, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nelson CSalvador, BA1,400 contributionsThis Beach is a wonderful point to enjoy the sunset, have a beer and taste the local fritters acarajé, a cake similar to a falafel, made of black eye peas, shrimp and nuts . Every day is a different scene and sky collors. An additional feature is the statue of the couple Zélia and Jorge Amado with their dog. The square, sunset and the writers make it even more a fictional scene. Enjoy it!Written April 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nelson CSalvador, BA1,400 contributionsThis is a great beach, with a nice strip of sand that gets compact and becomes a good alternative for 1/2 hour jogging. Since the beach is short between two sections of rocks, there is no soccer — a hindrance if you want to jog — and you can ran back and forth . I did a 7k in peace; and then jumped on the chilled water. Very nice. The guys with umbrellas and chairs for rent can be annoying, but oh well they are all over -: 10 reais for the umbrella; 5 for each chair rented.

Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - jorge cBuenos Aires, Argentina18,256 contributionsThe area of Ondina Beach is full of hotels, many of the big chain ones. It's quite easy to get here either by bus, uber or taxi but the beaches are really not that nice, with many rocks and huge waves. Good for pictures though.Written February 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
