    Always a pleasant visit.
This historical, family owned and operated Zoo / Museum is unique. Be aware, Space Farms can not compete with tax supported Zoo’s like Turtleback, or Cape May zoo. This Zoo has been a family operation for four generations. This history makes it special. While my wife and I are season pass holders for many years, we occasionally are conflicted about the imperfections of caging animals in any Zoo situation. Space Farms was a pioneer in private zoo development, and retains most of it’s heritage. It will not compare well with deeply funded zoo’s for size, exhibits, or facilities. What we respect about Space Farm’s, is the love and dedication the family applies to their animal family. Being regulars of the zoo, we have come to know the family and the animals. Many of the animal’s were born and hand raised here. The carnivorous animals get excellent daily diets of freshly sourced natural meat. On low attendance days, you can see how the animals interact with the staff by, greeting staff with vocalizations and rubbing the enclosure fencing to encourage contact (a pet or scratch). I would not confuse dated enclosures, to a lack if care. This is not the Bronx or San Diego zoo. You will not see groups of animals running in acre sized exhibits. The family has been adding and expanding some of the enclosures, and plans to expand the big cat areas in time for next years opening. Many of the animals here breed and regularly exceed the life expectancy of captive animals. Nothing is perfect, and enclosing any regal creature can be debated, but we have no doubt the care and attention these animals receive is excellent. If you can get over a non-perfect experience, and want to enjoy a day allowing your kids to see/feed a variety of healthy animals, give Space Farms a try. We will continue to support the operation and the good work that happens here.

I feel bad for the animals
We took our daughter here since there’s not much to do but it was a bit depressing for me and my boyfriend. The animals cages were so small. Even the baboons were in a very small cage with no branches to sit on just straight wood poles and balls. The big cats cages are way to small for them and the lion looked a bit skinny. The alligator is kept in the water but in a very small cage that is just touching the water. I enjoyed this place as a kid but I won’t be back and I hope these poor animals can be put into a rescue center and they don’t take in any new animals because this is not the way animals should be living. Where’s carol baskin when you need her, even though what she did wasn’t any better.

    not fair to the animals
animals were all caged in very small spaces. monkeys just walked in circles all day, the bears paced, foxes had really no place to roam. i feel all the animals should be taken out of there. its very cruel.

I rarely write reviews but my conscience compelled me after coming here . The small animals and farm animals are fine however this is no place for exotic animals like bears tigers lions .. they are in cramped old cages with no stimulation out in the hot sun . I felt so sorry for them . This zoo needs to be closed or maybe refurbished in a way that respects these animals . Very sad

Unbelievable the number of various animals. Most availability to get up close to animals. You can feed some animals out of your hand, such as deer, elk, buffalo and goats, very exciting. Bears will stand on their back legs for an expected cookie thrown to them. If you like old cars this is the place for you. Unexplored Gem for sure.

Many of the animals do not have enough space to properly exercise, they pace appearing anxious and distressed. Many did not have water (that was visible and many didn’t have shade) and the day I was there was extremely hot. It was sad to see the beautiful animals caged for their entire lives so we could ogle them for a minute or two. I strongly recommend to not go.

Space farms is a sad prison for so many beautiful exotic animals. The enclosures are small and understimulating. I witnessed many animals pacing and looking distressed, trying to hide in their small enclosures while kids (and adults) threw food into their cages. The inside is even more disturbing. The Space family brags about having "captured" (I would say murdered) the HUNDREDS of exotic animals they have taxidermied on their walls. This includes leopards, polar bears, grizzly bears, and deer. This is especially comical because on their TV commercial they claim to be "conserving wildlife." How incredibly dense. The only reason I went is to take photos to try to get a legal case going against this roadside zoo.

Great place. Very vast with ample room for the animals. The variety of animals is great too. It's really cool to see the rare animals they have there.

I went as a child. Brought my daughter when she was five and now that she is 28 we returned this weekend. No this is NOT THE BRONX OR SAN DUEGO zoo but a fun simple zoo. Staff is wonderfully friendly. Animals well taken care of.

We had a blast feeding the animals the corn and cookies. Go in AM. Animals more active worth the ride. Places to picnic. People were holding birthday parties.

Thank you for a wonderful day !! So much fun seeing these majestic animals in such a beautiful setting. Have been here many times before and this was my birthday and I took my mother.
The owners are a family that pour their heart into taking care of the Zoo and Museum. Several generations were present the day I was there. The museum is also very enriching. Unlike other zoos, there are lots of opportunities to interact up close with the animals. Go and stretch your legs with lots of walking in the Country setting. Had a blast and lots of laughs, thanks again !!

I found this place so saddening . I cannot believe a place like this is allowed to operate. I wish I had read the reviews before going because I would never want to support a place like this.

My daughter and I took my husband to Space Farms for Father's Day. The museums were some of the best I have visited in our country. What an incredible collection.

I have no idea what the other reviews were referring to when they gave negative reviews about the animals. I worked for a couple years at a busy wildlife rescue. I thought the enclosures were good. All the animals looked well fed and cared for. My husband grew up on a small farm and he thought the same as I did.

I would recommend Space Farms Zoo & Museum to anyone looking for a great day trip.

I am 67 years old and took my daughter now age 27 up there last year for the first time . What a Great place , where have we been all these years . We are animal people and realize these beautiful creatures of God are on display for all to see up close . If they were in larger cages they would be out of sight and people would feel ripped off as they did not get to see the animals they came to see . We have many animals in our home and feed about 12 feral outdoor cats twice a day every day . We took all the cats to be Neutered and Spaded and they are free to go where ever they want in this world . They choose to just hang out on and under our deck . The dogs get along with them and they all play and hang together. I call them by name and they come running to greet us. The animals in the zoo adapt to predator's around them as well, they are very smart . All are well taken care of and fed on a schedule. I did not see any poop in any of the cages .
Keep up the Great work ! We Love this place !
