Kevin Costner and ex Christine Baumgartner settle their contentious divorce

The Yellowstone star and his estranged wife "have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings."

Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner have come to terms.

The Yellowstone star and his estranged wife have reached a settlement agreement for their contentious divorce, which has been marked by a months-long legal battle over child support and Baumgartner's move out from the family's Santa Barbara home.

"Kevin and Christine Costner have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings," a representative for the actor said Tuesday in a joint statement from the former couple.

Costner, 68, and Baumgartner, 49, married in September 2004 and have three children together. (Costner also has older children from a previous marriage to Cindy Silva and a relationship with Bridget Rooney.) Baumgartner, a model and handbag designer, filed for divorce in May.

"It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action," a rep for Costner said at the time. "We ask that his, Christine's, and their children's privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."

Meanwhile, Costner's hit series Yellowstone is set to end with its fifth season, which premieres Nov. 13 on Paramount+. (Costner and Baumgartner's split reportedly "has nothing to do" with Yellowstone concluding.)

The actor's first directorial project in 20 years, the Western drama Horizon: An American Saga, wrapped production last fall, and is the first installment in a potential four-part series. Costner told PEOPLE that his son Hayes will play a younger version of his own character in the movie.
