DJ Corey visited Lawnwood Elementary School and encouraged students to always strive for excellence. This special music performance motivated students to make good choices and put forth good effort.  Students enjoyed dancing to DJ Corey’s hit song “Pass The Test”.   It was another amazing day at Lawnwood Elementary School.  GO LEOPARDS!

Floresta is so proud of our Dolphins and the academic growth they have demonstrated this year!  Third through Fifth graders achieving their FAST growth goals celebrated by making and enjoying their own icee.

Mrs. Peterson’s first-grade class and invited guests had a front-row seat to enjoy a musical selection conducted by their classmate B. Reynolds.  Reynolds started playing the piano at the young age of three. He has never had any formal lessons and does not know how to read or write sheet music. All his natural talent began on an iPad app. He is now self-taught by listening to songs and repeated practice. This goes to show that with practice and hard work, anything is possible!

Over the past few weeks, students and teachers have worked very hard to “show what they can do” on the third progress monitoring assessment of the F.A.S.T. Assessment. Although all students tried their very best, a perfect score is hard to achieve. Morningside celebrated the students who achieved this amazing task. Southern Oaks Middle School administrators, Principal Sanabria, and Assistant Principal Davis, treated teachers to a backyard-style cookout for teachers’ appreciation week. We really appreciate all our teachers at SOMS.

Ms. Delores Johnson is an esteemed alumna of Lincoln Park Academy who dedicated her career to public service and community and was interviewed as part of the oral histories for LPA’s centennial year. Ms. Johnson not only returned to LPA as a dean and then counselor, but also championed education reform as a state representative. Kindergarten and first grade Character Day at St. Lucie West K8 was fantastic! Students were encouraged to let their imaginations soar as they read a book of their choice, created an inspired book report, and dressed up as an unforgettable character from their book. It was a truly magical day for students and teachers!    

Village Green’s spectacular PBIS team hosted their annual End of Year Carnival for students who displayed positive behavior and met the school-wide PBIS expectations throughout the school year. Students and their families enjoyed an afternoon filled with bounce houses, interactive games, an obstacle course, dunk tanks, and even a petting zoo! Principal, Mrs. Boria was in the dunk tank, and Assistant Principal, Mrs. Drost was voted by students to get pied in the face. It was a fun event and we are so happy to be able to celebrate the end of a successful year!

Oak Hammock’s 8th-grade students enjoyed a fun-filled night at the theme park. They had an opportunity to enjoy peers and teachers outside of the school and classroom setting. This was a memorable night for students. For some students, this was the first time that they had visited a theme park. A good time was had by all who attended.    

Our Phin Nation Cheerleaders at Floresta Elementary School encouraged our third through fifth-grade students in preparation for their FAST testing. Their message was “Try your hardest; do your best; but always remember YOU are more than a test!”  We believe in all of our Dolphins!

Morningside students brought their “A” game as we continued state testing. Teachers and staff wrote encouraging messages on home plates for our students to read on their way into school. Then, they lined the halls to cheer them on and get them excited about doing their best. We are so proud of our Blue Jays and all their hard work! They brought their “A game” and knocked it out of the park! ⚾️

We are so proud! Some of Mrs. Archer’s kindergarten students are mastering sight words and celebrating with Grade level brag tags & Texas Road House certificates! Blue= All Kindergarten. Green = All First grade! There is still time to earn more! Keep working on those Sight words!!!!!
