While I did enjoy the 22 episodes that were extracted from Seasons 1 and 2, I'm disappointed that Fireworks Entertainment hasn't come out with a second DVD ("The Remaining Episodes of Seasons 1 and 2") or with "Season 3." Obviously there are a sufficient number of faithful viewers out there like me who would buy two more seasons worth of DVDs. It'd be a win-win situation: Fireworks could make a profit and viewers would get all remaining 44 episodes. I do recommend this product.

I enjoyed the series when it was on the air, and was pleased to finally get the set. The show was fun to watch, with very attractive actors in very enjoyable, likeable roles, and some excellent guest stars. Tia Carrerre was great as the professor and relic hunter; Christien Anholt turned a stereotype on its ear as the male assistant who started as an uncertain fish-out-of-water and grew into his position. I'm probably one of the few who preferred the second secretary to the first, but Lindy Booth played an airhead well, and had some shining moments too.
A good popcorn show, the kind where you could just put your feet up and lose yourself in over-the-top action with a female Indiana Jones clone and not have to worry about that your kids were watching it too.
I am disappointed that the eps are shown out of order in this "best of", and that the premier was not included. There are some episodes I especially liked that weren't included. I would very much love to see the whole series released properly - all three years, by year, in order, and with some more extras.

Relic Hunter is a fun adventurous show to watch. If you like Indiana Jones type movies, you'll like this TV show.
Also if you are looking for a reasonably priced copy check out Amazon Canada - www.amazon.ca. Season 1 is available April 10, 2010 for around $32-$35 American (used currency converter). Season 2 & 3 is soon to come.

I did not find any information as to what episodes were on this whn I ordered it for my Husband's Birthday.
Here are the two episodes on this disk:
Diamond In The Rough - This is about a baseball star who want Sydney to find a 'Magical Glove' which was stolen from someone else 50 years ago.
Thank You - A musician asks Sydney to help him find his lost treasure, a guitar given to him by Elvis Presley when they were GI's
Overall this is a good purchase so long as you know what is on the disk & not be expecting anything more.

I really liked watching the Seasons 1 and 2 episodes of Relic Hunter and some of the episodes I have never seen until the DVD's arrived. Plenty of action and good story plots for television of the 90's. For the history buffs out there don't expect 100% accuracy, just go with the show and enjoy it. And the beauty of Tia Carrere shines brightly. I think I am going to order Relic Hunter, Season 3 since I never saw those episodes and would like to see how the series ended. I heard that one reason the show ended after 3 years was they did a lot of their own stunts and got worn out.

I received the box of DVDs as it is a set. The first episode was missing. Wasn't happy with the outcome. I still have the boxed set without the first episode. I wish I had written this review sooner. I apologize for not doing so.

Actually two back-to-back episodes [RH vol 2]
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 29, 2016
Although marked as a single episode release this is actually a double episodes from the 66 episode ‘Relic Hunter’ Tv series [1999-2002] in which unorthodox History Professor Sydney Fox (Tia Carrere) moonlights as a globe-trotting professor who locates ancient artefacts in order to return them to museums and/or the descendants of the original owner whilst aided by her teaching assistant Nigel and her ditzy secretary Claudia.
The 2 featured episodes are episode 6 [Diamond in the Rough] and is followed by episode 5 [Thank you very Much]
The episodes take an historical ‘seed’ and develops it with a modern twist into a stand alone adventure, the action being typical Tv stuff and the pace is fast throughout, think ‘The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles’, ’The Lost World’ with the humour of “Xena Warrior Princess” and you’ll have the measure of this. In places it plays like a linear based computer game locating clues and dodging traps in every scene. There are also some scenes with the characters running about in their underwear, many instances of sexual innuendo [hence the 12 rating, but nothing that would be out of place in a Benny Hill sketch ] and more obvious humour helping to keep the atmosphere light.
There is some very infrequent mild cussing but the episodes are remarkably entertaining -even if highly implausible, making these ideal afternoon or early evening viewing, but don’t look for a challenging plot as these are fantasy adventures. This actually features in the 4 Collection of Relic Hunter [which is –confusingly, actually 8 episodes]

Problème de conformité du DVD mais grand geste commercial du vendeur
Reviewed in France on September 10, 2014

Kick Ass - the real thing.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 15, 2014
If you like the "Tomb Raider" franchise then these stories will interest you. Tia Carrera and her side-kick deliver action all the way, including laughs and looks. Although "Relic Hunter" has sometimes been dismissed as "Tomb Raider" on the cheap I think that is an unfair criticism of well made stories with strong plots and characters you can sympathise with, even the bad ones. Highly recommended if you have ever enjoyed these on the television. You should probably watch these first because some of the foes and friends reappear in later stories.

Great programme, shame about the picture and sound quality.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 26, 2023
Used to watch on tv back in the days it was originally broadcast. Just as good now as it was back in the day. The company that have produced the dvd's just need to "up their game" with regard to the quality of the dvd, picture quality is not up to the usual standard with most discs and the sound is dire even on max. Even with a sound bar you might struggle to obtain the required volume.
