Dr Kane Baker[citation needed] is an English[citation needed] YouTuber who uploads videos about philosophy.

Personal life[]

Kane uses any pronouns.[1] Kane has a Master’s in philosophy.[2] They finished their PhD, focusing on the philosophy of science, at the university of Exeter, in June 2022.[3][4]

At the age of eighteen, Kane began to suffer from anxiety and panic attacks,[5] and had to leave university after about a month.[6] Kane has worked as a university teaching assistant.[7] They are a vegetarian.[8]

Kane is a huge fan of Doctor Who,[9] and John Cage.[10] Besides philosophy, Kane is also interested in biology, astronomy, and astrobiology.[11]

Philosophical views[]

Kane is an atheist.[12] They do not believe in a priori knowledge. Kane believes that abortion is permissible at any point, that capital punishment is impermissible, and that eating animals is permissible. Kane leans towards socialism. They view race as unreal, gender as a social construct, and aesthetic value as subjective. Kane would choose immortality if offered.[13]

YouTube[]

Kane has had a plague doctor as an avatar for over a decade.[14] Kane started YouTube because they “have always had the belief that the best way to learn a topic is to figure out how to communicate it to a lot of people.”[15] Kane uploaded their first video, Truth trees for propositional logic 1, on January 19, 2013.[16] Kane’s 100th video was about neckbeards.[17]
