Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Minootravels47 contributionsWe had a lovely olive oil tasting and delicious lunch. Our server, Emma, was delightful and very accommodating. Beautiful setting.Written 12 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- labyrinth2 contributionsWe were wine tasting at the wineries but what I really like is the one port at the end. Sonoma port works only has ports. Even if you can take them Or leave them- try this place. They have everyone from a chardonnay port, amber ones and the dark red for you red wine drinkers. The “baristas” are super knowledgeable and fun to talk to.Written 3 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eric C S12 contributionsWe stopped here on way to Sonoma. Fortunately we were able to make appointment on our way from San Francisco and they could accommodate us. Lovely grounds and we had a private tasting outdoors with incredible view of vineyards! Diane, our sommelier, was wonderful. Lots of surprises at this vineyard that does not just include the wonderful wine!Written 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nanasan6Gastonia, NC22 contributionsWe bought sandwiches with side salad and took them down to the on-site lake and sat down at one of the picnic tables. It was just as good as our last visit, maybe even better. They had a great variety of cheese in the store along with other items. I could have stayed all day. If you find yourself in the Petaluma area, Marin French Cheese is a must to visit. Everyone is so friendly.Written 5 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TravelnWithKidz98 contributionsCool place for families with kids to hang out. There is plenty of seating outside in between a large grassy area and several cornholes. Great selection of regular and limited series beers and seltzers. All the food we ordered was tasty: chicken Caesar salad, truffle fries, spicy fried chicken sandwich and spicy millie burger. Our kids enjoyed the grilled cheese and cheeseburger. Definitely stop by if you’re near Petaluma!Written 31 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BloggerSonoma County, CA35 contributionsHilly but not too challenging hiking trails make for a good work-out close to Petaluma center. New parking lot has plenty of space. Good restrooms, kids play area and sheltered picnic tables.Written 14 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael BlumBel Air, MD2 contributionsA GREAT PLACE to take kids and get some exercise at the same time. The trails are interesting and the live residents (birds, mostly) are fun to watch. Well-placed benches and observation decks with informative placards help make the experience fun.Written 27 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary Ellen SPetaluma, CA2 contributionsBarber Cellars is a fun wine tasting room with a very relaxed atmosphere. The best part is the wine of course. The new vintages of their reds are very smooth and the whites are unique and refreshing. We enjoy trying the library wines, its like finding a treasure. You never know what library wines they might pour (unless you check their website). We have met the nicest people in that room. The vintage arcade games are super fun and sometimes you play better with wine, insider secret.
We have had dinner and wine in the tasting room because their cheese and charcuterie are very generous and very reasonably priced. Lots of local cheeses and meats. Always something unique and yummy on their menu.
Recently went to an event in the tasting room pairing local speakers and it was very fun. Interactive and made a new friend. Barber Cellars has a genuine quality, nice people.
The wine tasting room is right next door to their sister distillery which has amazing bourbon, whiskey etc. They make some distinctive cocktails over there.Written 2 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA16,264 contributionsWe were here in cold weather but the ice cream was good anyway. They also have some lunch items to eat. But this place is famous as a classic ice cream parlor.Written 11 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tina GCarlsbad, CA10 contributionsSo happy this beautiful boutique winery was recommended to us by friends from the area. Laurence the owner and winemaker was simply awesome! So knowledgeable and the wines were fantastic- had to buy a bunch before we left and enjoyed during our evenings. Highlight of the trip and would highly recommend! Cheers!Written 15 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
