Universidad del Noreste is a private educational institution located in northeast Mexico and only a 6 hour drive from the southern Texas border.
UNE, as it is known, was the first private institution founded in the state of Tamaulipas, and has 45 years of solid reputation in the training of professionals. During this time, UNE has opened its doors to students from around the world including Venezuelan, Haitian, American, Turkish, and Argentinean. Many of which have found success within their profession.
This year, UNE has once again been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as an eligible university to participate in the U.S Federal Student Loans program. Here you will find all the information you need to meet our academic approach and join our attitude of change atmosphere!

Code of Conduct for Education Loans
The U.S Department of Education code of conduct stipulates the following.> In order to prohibit a conflict of interest when it comes to private education loans, employees with responsibility for U.S loans are prohibited from the following:
- Making revenue-sharing arrangements with any lender.
- Receiving gifts from a lender or a loan servicer.
- Offering funds for private loans.
- Direct borrowers to particular lenders or refusing or delaying loan certifications.
- Entering into arrangements providing financial benefit from any lender or affiliate of a lender.

Where are we?
Universidad del Noreste is located in the Port City of Tampico in the State of Tamaulipas bordering the State of Texas in the U.S. Its climate is humid subtropical with an average temperature of 90-95 degrees in summer and 60- 65 degrees in winter. The economic, tourist and industrial activity in Tampico makes it one of the most important ports in Mexico. Infrastructure: Hotels, Hospitals, Schools, Theatres, Parks, Social Clubs and Sports, International Airport, Bus Station, Shopping Malls, Universities, Interstate Highways, etc.
