Cinema was introduced to unravel the evils of society and educate the masses about the atrocities caused by the British. However, with time, we deviated from the real purpose of this medium shifting to a more commercial model wherein only those movies which could entertain the audiences became “superhits” while the rest were labelled as “flops”.

Tamasha (2015)
Ved meeting Tara in Corsica was perceived as just another boy-meets-girl rom-com. While the movie started smoothly, it escalated with Ved’s accurately portrayed mental breakdown which did not appeal to the viewers, and Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’ got labelled as “too complex.”
