      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Despite the presence of a large, talented cast, the jokes in Little Nicky are dumb, tasteless, and not that funny, and Adam Sandler's character is grating to watch.

Rated: 3/5 Dec 25, 2010 Full Review Kim Newman Empire Magazine If you can take Sandler for more than five minutes, this is his funniest film to date. Kaylie H Just a goofy movie with a unique funny concept. Not supposed to be a golden globe winning cinematic. If you can't find the fun in this film - you're taking life too seriously. Great cast! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/24 Full Review John Francis Y I didn't know Quentin Tarantino made a cameo in this movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/24 Full Review Enrique L Ignore the bad reviews. It's a great movie and it'll give you a lot more laughs than anything new. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/04/23 Full Review Sanad A I have to say, I completely agree with your 3/10 rating for the film "Little Nicky - Satan Junior". This movie had so much potential, but it fell flat in so many ways. First of all, I have to mention Adam Sandler. He is undoubtedly a talented actor and has given us some great films like "The Wedding Singer" and "The Waterboy". However, he has also made some real stinkers, and "Little Nicky" is definitely one of them. It's disappointing to see someone with such potential continuously churn out movies that are just plain bad. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to remake a classic like "Mr. Deeds" with Sandler in the lead role? It's insulting to the original and to the audience's intelligence. Now, let's talk about the film itself. The biggest problem with "Little Nicky" is that it's just not funny. The humor is crude, smarmy, and often relies on shock value rather than genuine laughs. Making a comedy about Satan and Hell is a tough job, but it could have been done so much better. Just look at "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" for example. That film managed to tackle similar themes in a clever and funny way. "Little Nicky", on the other hand, feels like it was written by 7-year-olds who think Beavis and Butthead's humor is too sophisticated. The crude jokes, like the sexually obsessed dog and the scene with demons shoving pineapples into Hitler's rectum, are just tasteless and not funny at all. What's even more frustrating is that there are people out there who actually think this film is good. I mean, seriously? Comparing "Little Nicky" to films like "Gone with the Wind" or "Dr. Strangelove" is just absurd. It's a low, stupid film without any value. It's disheartening to see that there are people who will pay to see anything, regardless of its quality. It's like the predictions in the film "Idiocracy" are becoming true today. Interestingly, if you look at the statistics for the ratings, you'll see that as many people loved the film as hated it. However, if you break it down by demographics, you'll notice that the older you get, the more likely you are to hate the film. It's clear that the film didn't resonate with a more discerning audience. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/23 Full Review John H It's a good thing most people don't look at rotten tomatoes anymore; Little Nicky was one of Sandlers last good movies. The jokes are wonderful, the lore is colorful, and it's the right amount of raunchy. 78/100. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/06/23 Full Review Narciso R Perfect room, no job, 2 pain siblings. Great music throughout. Great cameos. Why does rotten, rate the movie at 20%, when here 50% and another 70%? NRJ. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
