I've got a mask set up using the Face Features tool. I've got the grading dialed in.
None of the tracking tools work. The play head may advance one frame and stop with no blue line following.
There is no progress, status, or error message displayed.

Full disclosure, it worked once out of about 20 tries on four different clips. All clips have identical grading and node tree.

What could cause this behavior?

Window 10 64bit, Resolve 18.1.4 (also 18.1)

I don't have the answer but the Person Mask tab in Magic Mask has been superseded by the newer and much better Object Mask. I know I've had much better results with it.

It happens with object mask too, not usually on the first track but subsequent tracks.

I delete all my tracking and start again. sometimes it will work, other times the same thing happens. The more tracks the more likely it will happen from what I"ve seen.

This feature literally does not work

I ran a brief test on MM (Object) on a UHD BRAW clip in Studio 18.6 on Windows 10 with an RTX 3060 12 GB, and it worked fine.

It happens with mask and magicmask tracking. The problem was trying to track with Playback > Timeline Proxy Mode set to quarter. It must be on Full to the tracking work properly.

I've seen many issues reported over the years when using Timeline Proxy Resolution.

My advice, leave it at Full. There are better ways to improve performance.

Im having trouble with the tracking feature today. I tried everything the thread posters suggested. Still not working...

I'm having the same issue in 18.6.6.

In 18.6.5, the tracking info would reset anytime that a new version of the timeline was created which was a minor hassle. I'd have to go back to the corresponding tracked clip and regenerate the tracking info using the track forwards and backwards button.

In 18.6.6 I'm finding that object tracking info is still being lost and none of the tracking buttons for the tracked clip work--all the reference frames are still there, nothing has been changed.

Are you using the tracking mask in the color tab or the fusion page? I always use the tracking masks in the fusion page as it won't reset .....

I always use the tracking masks in Fusion as it becomes more "edible" in the timeline etc. It becomes a fusion element ...I got tired of retracking after being in the timeline tab and resizing what I've masked already in the color page.

I have had the same problem and finally FOUND THE SOLUTION!

You must use the magic mask within the RAW video clip on the timeline and NOT on a adjustment layer.
So make sure you select the correct clip in the color tab before using the magic mask.
