About the Board

The Board of License Commissioners, commonly referred to as the Liquor Board, is responsible for regulating and controlling the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages within the county and administering and enforcing the provisions of the laws of the State of Maryland and the rules and regulations of Calvert County.

The board consists of three members appointed biennially by the governor of Maryland with the consent of the state senate if it is in session. Members serve two-year terms.
