I wonder if it is possible to in a sense "bait" the aerial exchange, and when they try to counter you can air xfactor and punish. It'd probably be cheap but i was just wondering.

You should be able to do it without the aerial x-factor. The air exchange button is usually an unsafe move in the air, that you can punish. (That's what Seth said anyways. I never tried it myself.)
You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.
