When Prinzessin Luise Augusta von Hessen-Darmstadt was born on 30 January 1757, in Berlin, Brandenburg, Prussia, Germany, her father, Ludwig IX Landgraf von Hessen-Darmstadt, was 37 and her mother, Landgravine Henrietta Carolina Christiana Louisa von Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld, was 35. She married Karl August von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach on 3 October 1775, in Karlsruhe, Bezirksamt Karlsruhe, Baden. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 14 February 1830, in Weimar, Thuringia, Germany, at the age of 73, and was buried in Weimar, Weimar, Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, Germany.
