There is a very tight-knit community on campus, which is fostered by the small number of students, and the fact that we all live on campus. As a Catholic liberal arts college, Magdalen strives to form the whole person, and places the greatest emphasis on the liturgies and spiritual life. We have access to Mass and the Sacraments, as well as morning and evening prayer, and adoration a couple times a week. The music is a huge part of life here, with every student being required to participate in choir, which is very prestigious.
When I started as a student here, the rules were very strict, practically stifling. No cell phones were allowed to be used unless during designated times, heading off- campus required the Dean's permission. Curfew was set at night, and early-morning Mass was mandatory. This is not for everyone, but for someone looking to enrich their life and embrace a new culture and setting, this was just right. The friendships I made were strong and enduring, my faith in the Lord became far more personal. Although my four years here did not prepare me entirely for the loud nonsense of the modern world, it gave me the courage to meet it head-on with an equally loud pride in my faith.
The college has changed a good deal since my time there, but I imagine it still holds true to its core values.
The one-star deduction is for the absolute shock-value I felt upon starting my degree...the remaining stars are to represent that it was worth it. Praying for a future of many successful years for this college.

I have enjoyed the time I have spent there. It took me a while to settle on the College I wanted to go to but the more I have learned about Magdalen, the more I am excited to be a student there.
