We had visited a year or so ago and had an excellent roast, it was a big plateful - this visit is under new management which we didn’t realise until we arrived. The system has changed and we had to get our own cutlery etc. Most of the party enjoyed their roasts, we noticed the amount you are given is much less now and fortunately had ordered extra roast potatoes. Little bit mean with the vegetables and gravy provided and the cabbage was just cooked. The beef is rare but thats to some of our parties taste. Desserts were very good. Pub was busy, staff friendly. Would come again but probably to try something else from the menu?

We went here for a meal prior to seeing a show on the pier. We were shown to our table which was in a nice corner (something I prefer) The staff were so friendly and helpful, we ordered our food and didn't have to wait long. The food itself was so good! Being a veggie I had a good choice. plenty of choice of ales too. Highly recommend this place!

Food delicious, but could have been hotter. One meal was fine, the other only warm. Big helping of raw sliced Savoy cabbage: Should this have been cooked?

Visited Cromer for the day and enjoyed a lovely pub lunch - group of 5 who all said what a lovely meal and good value. Staff were welcoming and friendly-would definitely recommend

We were here on 1st Jan just after the fabulous fireworks display. We were a group of 4 and I had booked earlier in the year. It was jammed packed and so busy . Sadly they had run out of Merlot so we had something else . Our table was ready on time 3 of us had fish and chips which was lovely. 1 had scampi but not very hot . The place was lovely and clean . The young man who served us and chatted was very nice . We throughly enjoyed it . We liked it so much we went back on Tuesday ,sadly still no Merlot . A really lovely young lady was behind the bar . Very cheerful , greeting everyone as they came in and their dogs . She constantly was cleaning tables and washing her hands . Food was lovely . No complaints at all . Super pub . Well done

Excellent, friendly service. Under new management since October and already the improvement shows. Food is still limited, at the moment, to traditional pub food/set options which doesn't always appeal to me but is good quality. I'd like to try the Sunday lunch now.

Poor cold starters that had to be redone, mozzarella sticks still weren't piping hot when redone Main meals very average, hunters chicken tasted and smelt like plastic so couldn't be eaten, Heinz HOT mustard out of date by 1 WHOLE YEAR!! and another 2 bottles out of date by 2 MONTHS - we only noticed this after 1 of the party had eaten it on their dinner! Floor dirty, toilets dirty, short staffed and disorganised chaos - booked in advance, and table wasn't even ready when we arrived - was supposed to be a nice meal out for my friends birthday

There was only one member of staff on duty and she was delightful, juggling food and bar service with smile. She handled things beautifully and expertly. The pub itself not a cosy place to be, lacking ambiance. The food was OK the pie was dry and the burger served without onion rings but the chips were delicious; but we felt too sorry for the server to complain. Sadly, I couldn't recommend it.

Booked table online and all ok, but we were waiting along time for our food after we'd ordered. I did have to go upto the bar and ask were it was. When the food arrived, our Yorkshire puddings were stone cold, it looked like they had just been defrosted and put on the plate. I did complain and the young girl was very apologetic and brought us out 2 more, which had obviously been in the microwave to heat up. But apart from that the Sunday roast was very good and the duo of meat was very filling.

New management clearly not up and running yet. I hope that this is the reason for underwhelming quality of food. Might try again in a couple of months. Good luck.

Our reservation was canceled without any notice. The menu was limited and didn’t have much choice. We lucky got a table but was rushed to order as the staff member said the kitchen shut at 6pm when I booked a table for food for 6pm. It was clean and most tables were empty but full of empty glasses and bottles. . Would not recommend.

Despite making a reservation online via the link on their own website when our group arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday night we were told they had stopped serving food?! I advised we had made a booking etc only to be told that the app / link they use they cannot access the bookings and had no way of informing people. Flabbergasted I questioned this having made the booking on their web page. Again told it was useless etc. We had travelled over 100 miles to stay the weekend in Cromer this was not a great start. Maybe its harder than than i know to update your own website but god knows how many people have fallen fowl of this. Left immediately in search of restaurants who know how to treat customers.

I had booked a table for the advertised Sunday Lunch only to get there and be told they don’t do Sunday Lunch. They advertise it on the website and have an advertising board showing it outside!!! To be honest I was pleased as the whole pub looked dirty and the staff were totally uninterested. Would not recommend at all.

We booked through OpenTable for 7.30 pm. When we got there they told us that the kitchen closes at 6 pm because they are changing management. They blamed OpenTable for not taking this into account, except that when we booked we got to OpenTable via the webpage of the pub and as we see it its the pub responsibility to either let OpenTable know or just remove the link

ARRIVED AT PUB, WITH TABLE BOOKED THROUGH OPEN TABLE AND WERE TOLD BY BAR PERSON NOT DOING FOOD ANYMORE, THAT THEY CANT ACCESS BOOKINGS THROUGH OPEN TABLE TO SEE WHOS BOOKED TO LET PEOPLE KNOW, SO BASICALLY HAVE TO FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO EAT !! SIGNPOSTED US TO RED LION HOTEL WHEN ASKED WHERE ELSE WAS LOCAL, WHICH WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. MAYBE SOMEONE COULD TAKE TIME TO LOOK INTO WHEN KINGS HEAD DOES SERVE FOOD AND UPDATE OR CANCEL OPEN TABLE ACCOUNT TO SAVE THIS HAPPENING TO PEOPLE AGAIN AS ACCORDING TO BAR PERSON HAPPENS OFTEN AND NOTHING THEY CAN DO ??

We are staying in the area. The week before we traveled I looked online for places to eat out with my family that was dog friendly. I made a booking for a table at 7pm on Monday via the booking system provided by their own website. I received an email confirmation after the booking. The day before the booking I received both an email and text message asking to confirm the booking which I did. We arrive at the pub at 7pm Monday to be told they don’t serve food after 6pm on Mondays. I explain that I made a booking and the bar staff simply weren’t interested. They suggested that they had been having problems with the booking system and intimated it was my fault for using it. I asked why someone did not contact me to inform me there was a problem with the booking but no that was too much to ask. Their website states they serve food until 8pm but you obviously can’t trust anything they advertise. I will not be visiting this place again and would discourage anyone from visiting

The beer/ shandy was good but the pastry of the meat pie was rock hard, overcooked and contained about 3 pieces of meat, one of which was stuck to the inside of the pastry due to the cooking process. I could not cut the pastry with a knife. It did not compare in quality to other establishments we have eaten at during this holiday. My husband had lasagne which was ok but nothing special. Yes, I could have complained or refused to pay but it one of those pubs you pay on ordering.

I wouldn’t hear again as there were so many flies while we were eating. Once we had finished our meal and come out we had noticed they had placed wheelie bins outside the window where we was sitting. Children’s food portions were huge, too much for the children to eat as they were adult portions. Most of the food was wasted.

THIS IS NOT A REVIEW OF THE KING'S HEAD, but of the ridiculous company OpenTable. OpenTable really fouled up! Rubbish company. The King's Head could not be more apologetic, but not their fault. They have been fighting to get OpenTable to stop taking bookings for Sunday Lunch as they do not do it any more!! OT seem unable to get the message and remove King's Head from their booking system. Pathetic, uneducated annoying idiots who either can't program or are just incompetent, being incapable or uninterested in doing a simple task of removing an establishment from their booking system. Don't book things online. Just get a phone number and give whoever you wish to book something with a call and do it that way. Lesson learned.

Picked this pub specifically to watch the England rugby game (09/09/23) whilst on a weekend away in Cromer as it clearly advertises the viewing of the rugby world cup on its website (main page). We confirmed by telephone that we required a table where we would be able to see a screen clearly. We were told that a table 'in the corner by the window with clear view of main screen' would be reserved. However, upon arrival, we were told that this was not possible as the pub has a karaoke on a Saturday which is in the area our table was supposedly booked. Furthermore, the rugby would not be shown on the main screen as this was used by the karaoke, but they managed to find us another table in an area with a small screen. The presence of the karaoke meant that no sound was audible for the rugby so it was picture only, so we had to make do as we didn't have any back-up plan. We made a complaint about this but were told it was nothing to do with the pub as they didn't control the programme of events planning, or website. Other people sat in the same area also complained & left by half time. Therefore, this pub is attracting people under false pretences & misleading advertising on it's website. If you are going to attract people to watch a major event on the home page of your website then this should be on all main screens & with sound. However, this wasn't the only issue! We ordered food as soon as we arrived at 7.15pm as we were told there would be an hour wait. This in itself is poor as the pub should know how busy it usually gets on a Saturday night, & gear the staffing levels appropriately. It was hardly late ordering food at that time. The food came after about 30mins & to say it was terrible would be doing the word 'terrible' a disservice. It was a simple fish & chips (so not cordon bleu cooking) & was without doubt the worst pub food I have ever had (& I'm 62). In hindsight I should have complained but couldn't be bothered having already complained about rugby/booking.

Although booked table , when arrived informed they don’t accept open table reservations ! told to find own table and order at bar ! Booked as they advertised showing Rugby World Cup series , had to ask to get right channel , then a Karaoke started so loud no one watching tv could here commentary. We walked out !!

Daughters order was wrong, replacement was poor. Toilets were flooded and had spilled into dining area, this had been the case for the previous 7 days yet nothing was done. Walking on a toilet water drenched carpet was not pleasant.

No table was reserved despite me booking one via website. Staff said they do not reserve tables. Had to wait for a table to come available. Food average. Loud and full of kids & families. Not a relaxing atmosphere at all. Not what we were looking for so wouldn’t return.

Booked a table but the pub knew nothing about it as apparently under new ownership but open table bookings still controlled by old management. Not sure if this is to be believed …… Food was horrible, no ladies toilet as flooded so had to use the Mens. Disgusting. Staff trying to put a brave face on but definitely one to avoid. Such a shame as this time last year it was a great pub with lovely food.

Have been before. But Oh how things have changed. Music so loud you had to shout to be heared. Food bland and luke warm. So very poor value. Before we went for meal tried to ring to book another night. But no one answered. Maybe they couldn't here the phone over the loud music. But shan't be going back anytime soon. Finally Ladies toilet closed told to use is this legal
