Dr. Michael's Obituary

At 12:30 AM on July 17th, Dr. Michael Conrad passed away peacefully and gained his eternal reward and healed body while surrounded by his family.

He was born in Kingsport, TN on December 6, 1961 to parents, Fred and Patricia Conrad. He attended the University of Tennessee and the University Of Tennessee School of Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.

Dr. Conrad is survived by his wife, Becky; daughters, Katy Millard (Daniel), Morgan, and Natalie; sons, Michael and Jackson; and his two "little grand-buddies", Sam and Luke. He also leaves behind his brothers, Rick (Louise), Rob (Mikki), and Scott (Shari); sister-in-law, Debbie Long (Greg); mother-in-law, Bonnie Prince; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Fred and Patricia Conrad, and his father-in-law, Jerry Prince.

Dr. Conrad began his OBGYN practice in Florence, AL before moving his practice to Huntsville in 2003. He was blessed to be the first person to hold over 10,000  babies as they entered this world and he prayed over every single one. While he was rarely on time for an appointment, Dr. Conrad was deeply devoted to all his patients. He always believed in taking as much time as possible to answer his patients’ questions and treat them and their families with the love and compassion of Christ. He was a devoted servant and follower of Christ in all aspects of his life. He was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ and he regularly served the homeless community with his family at The Livin' Room at 2820 Ministries in Huntsville.

Dr. Conrad cherished his best friend and wife of almost 36 years, Miss Becky. Dr. Conrad was the best daddy to his 5 children. Even if he had just spent 72+ hours in deliveries, all Dr. Conrad wanted to do was be with his family and always put their needs and wants above his own. He enjoyed nothing more than having a house full of family and friends to watch Tennessee football, play board games, celebrate special occasions, or just be together. He enjoyed every moment he had with his wife, children, and “ little grand-buddies”. There are no amount of words that can accurately describe the type of Christian husband, father, and doctor he was to us all. Those that had the privilege of knowing him, know without a shadow of a doubt that he heard the words "Well done my good and faithful servant" when he was called Home.

Dr. Michael Conrad’s visitation will be at Mayfair Church of Christ on Thursday, July 20th from 4:00-7:00 PM. The family asks that you please bring your precious children that Dr. Conrad helped bring into this world, as that was one of his greatest joys in life. We will have dum-dum suckers for the children just as he always did.

Due to the extensive illness and exhaustion of the family, there will be a private graveside service for the family on Friday, July 21st at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial gifts to be made to The Livin Room at 2820 Ministries in Huntsville. You can either give online at Thelivinroomhsv.org or checks can be mailed to The Livin' Room ℅ Jerry Mercer CPA, 201 Williams Ave SW #280 Huntsville, AL 35801.
