- Edited 7 months agoUnfortunately the tape hiss noise felt can be a little disturbing on slower tracks like “Nuages”. That’s probably the kind of noise you can’t get rid of when it’s on the master. Otherwise this pressing would be outstanding.
- This is fully an 'ok' pressing. I have the high pitched noise in the background and crackle/rice krispies off and on, which is no good for a record w/ some slower tracks that aren't full. Still enjoyable, but kind of a bummer for a pressing that is supposed to be top notch.
- Sounds good!
Not enough presence and energy on John Pisano’s guitar. Hence 4 stars.
Also, it has unpleasant background noise. It's a little bit ringing which is quite annoying. But hopefully, it's because of my apartment with all its noises. - This is the stand out in a stack full of stand out albums in the Tone Poets of 2022. I haven't heard them all but this is my number one for the year. Looking forward to having to start a new shelf as my jazz section is full now.
- What a great release. I took a long time to buy this LP. Indeed, there are so many records to purchase and this one is definitely one of them when you love jazz guitar. I was hesitating and I bought Barney Kessel with the Poll Winners on Contemporary first. Difficult choice — but both are great jazz guitar records.
- Excellent recording, quiet, warm-sounding and instrumentally balanced. My first record in this series, very pleased with it.
