Mattel Films Elevates Robbie Brenner to President Mattel Films Elevates Robbie Brenner to President

On the heels of the record-breaking performance of “Barbie,” veteran film executive Robbie Brenner has been elevated to president of Mattel Films.

Brenner moves up from her role as executive producer at Mattel, the longstanding toy company that’s spent years switching focus to original content based on its intellectual property under CEO Ynon Kreiz. She’s been in-house since 2018.

“Robbie joined the company five years ago to bring the vision of Mattel Films to life, collaborating with leading filmmakers to make standout quality movies based on our iconic brands that will resonate in culture and appeal to global audiences. She has done exactly that and so much more, positioning Mattel Films as a key partner for innovative creators, world-class talent, award winning producers, and major studios,” Kreiz said on Wednesday.

Brenner and her team co-produced Greta Gerwig’s pink sensation, led by Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, to the tune of $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office. The company currently has dozens of features in development based on its toys, including films centered around Masters of the Universe, the Magic 8 Ball, Polly Pocket and Hot Wheels.

Brenner is an alum of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and served on the executive branch at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
