Actress Patrice Wymore, the widow of swashbuckling Hollywood actor Errol Flynn, has died at the age of 87.

She died on Saturday at her cattle ranch home in Portland, Jamaica, according to a family representative.

The Kansas-born actress began her career on the Broadway stage before marrying Flynn in 1950.

Wymore never remarried following the 1959 death of the Captain Blood and Adventures of Robin Hood star and retired from acting in 1970.

Wymore appeared alongside her husband in 1955's King's Rhapsody and had a small role in the 1960 version of Ocean's Eleven.

The actress is survived by a grandson, actor Luke Flynn, the only son of her late daughter Arnella.

Wymore met her future husband at the age of 21 when she was cast alongside him in 1950 western Rocky Mountain.

In his autobiography My Wicked, Wicked Ways, Flynn described her as an "attractive, warm and wholesome" woman. "Nobody ever tried harder than Pat to make me happy," he wrote.

The couple spent much of their nine-year marriage in Jamaica's Portland parish, where stories of the actor's carousing can still be heard today.

Wymore returned to Jamaica permanently in 1967, devoting herself to establishing a wicker furniture business and raising cattle.
