Once you get over the horrific graphic pictures on the wall, the dirty bathrooms and the size of the menu Hells Kitchen is pretty good. The menu was overwhelming and indicated to me that they don’t specialize in anything. Likewise the decor was an attempt...to be goth but it is tacky and disturbing. Note that the “impossible burger” is just a microwaved patty while the classic burger tasted homemade. The service was great and there were no complaints regarding the quality of the food or the size of the bloody Mary’s. Not a place to bring kids due to the decor and the fact that this place Is in basement so it smells like an old college bar.More

Had not been back here for several years and not since the employees bought the restaurant. The service was first rate, food was even better than I remembered, and the atmosphere was great. My son got reservations for 9:45am so we walked right in and...were seated. Got the eggs benedict with buffallo meat that came covered in a fantastic Hollandase sause. The kicker is the sourdough toast with the famouse homemade peanut butter and jam. My wife got her favorite-the caramel roll, and my son got the classic scrambled egg breakfast. We got an order of the famous lemon pancakes as an app. took home leftovers and of course I bought a 3lb jar of the homemade peanut butter for home. Best breakfast in the Twin cities.More

It had been over 6 years since we last ate at Hell's Kitchen and we are glad we gave it another try this past weekend. We were able to get an online reservation for 2 on Saturday for later that night. Service was a bit...slow as the wait staff seemed stretched thin just like in many other establishments as things reopen. However, not a big issue and the food quality was excellent. Enjoyed the parmesan cheese tater tot appetizer and the short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus that I ordered was great. No beers on tap but a nice selection of cans and bottles including plenty of local craft brews. We had a booth in The Far Side Room near the bar. Set up well for Covid with plexiglass separating booths. Quirky but chill atmosphere in the restaurant. Would love to return for Breakfast as it is suppose to be terrific. The breakfast menu certainly looked creative and interesting.More

Took us almost 2 hours to get in and out of Hell’s Kitchen. We did order appetizers and desserts, but there was an uncomfortable amount of time that passed in between servings. Our waitress must have been somewhat new because she didn’t have answers to...simple menu questions and we had to flag her down a couple times instead of her coming to us and checking on us. The food was just ok. We got the Walleye Bites and cheese curds for apps. They were good. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs and they were kind of dry (too done) and the meat did not come off the bone easily. My husband got the chicken sandwich and loved it. Others who got burgers were satisfied. The desserts were just ok too. The brownie was very thin and dry, but it was only $5 and the S’more waffle was liked by those who shared it. Note: when we asked our waitress about a person in our groups nut allergy, at first she said almost nothing in the restaurant could be considered safe for a peanut allergy, but then did make sure the things ordered did not have nuts in them. We wanted to experience a Hell’s Kitchen and did; however, the experience wasn’t such that we will want to return.More

We had only been to HK for breakfast when we were here in Minneapolis for past conventions. Always enjoyed breakfast. We decided to have lunch there today. Very disappointing. Our server was not very attentive and the place was practically empty. The cinnamon bun was...delicious. My colleague did not care for the grilled cheese. I had Walleye tacos. Fish bites were dry. The tacos came with queso and chips. I asked for a second little cup (like the little ketchup serving cup) of queso, unaware that it would be an additional dollar when I got my bill! Geez people! Our least enjoyable lunch while here!More

We have been Hell’s Kitchen customers since they first opened many years ago in their original location and have loved going there ever since. It used to be a 10 minute trip to get there from our home downtown so we went often. Now it...is a 2 hour drive so it has to be part of a dedicated trip to the Cities. We were very excited to go this last weekend , made reservations but left quite disappointed:( It was a Saturday morning and the ambiance was very nice with a soft jazz band playing nice music but a bit too loud to allow breakfast conversation. The Bloody Mary was busy and they looked awesome as usual (we love them and they are always great), but we did not try them this day. But parties on both sides us spoke highly of them:) Service started out well but waiter had to be flagged down just to get coffee cup refilled while we waited way too long for breakfast to show up, and that’s when disappointment ensued. I ordered the steak and eggs ( over medium) hash browns and sourdough toast. My wife ordered the Old Fashioned breakfast - eggs, hash browns, ham and toast. My steak was very good, but my eggs had runny whites which any breakfast cook knows is exactly what “over medium” is supposed to avoid. Sourdough toast was not toasted but basically warm dry bread. The hash browns were cooked on one side, warmed on the other side and pure mush in the middle. My wife’s hash browns and eggs were the same but her ham was good. If we hadn’t had to wait 35 minutes for breakfast to show up we would have sent both of them back. Truly disappointing. We will try again next time we travel for a weekend to the Cities, but if the head chef in the kitchen continues to allow this poor cooking quality to continue, the long term prospects for the restaurant will decline. We don’t want to see this happen.More

This is a truly funky place with great food and entertainment on the side. We sat at the bar until a table was ready, then Daniel looked after us. We took his recommendation and both had the shrimp linguine – a big heap of juicy...shrimps in a delicate sauce with al dente pasta, accompanied by a bottle of slightly oaky Sonoma Chardonnay. We loved the juxtaposition of the art on the walls, with scary Ralph Steadman (we knew who he was as he’s English!) and cheery Tom & Jerry cartoons. We finished with a couple of ice cream scoops and a Kiss My Lips Peanut Butter Cup to go. On the way out the kooky receptionist gave us a few tokens to spend in the photo booth. Great food and drink, great atmosphere, great fun!More

I was excited to visit Hells Kitchen, this was my first time in Downtown Minneapolis, My expectations may have been a bit high. I found the outside area, and parking garage a bit dirty Entry of building seems a bit worn. Upon going to the...lower level, there was no hostess to greet, so I took it upon myself to sit at the bar. Bar server was fast and helpful. I ordered the Spring Roll Salad, about 10 minutes later, server came to report that they were out of the Spring Roll Salad, so I ordered the Original Power Salad and a glass of Rose. Salad was good but too large and not what I would have expected from places known for great food. People ordering brunch items seemed very happy with their selections, so It may have just been my choice that underwhelmed me. This and the overall ambiance were not what I expected, I probably would not return.More

My poor rating is do to the overall experience of booking a large group for a private dinning room. When deciding if we should just book a big table or the room my group decided to pay a little more for private dinning so we...could have the room to ourselves and mingle. I was told we would have the whole room when I called to ask questions. First I thought it was odd that we were limited to four menu items and had to pick them in advance since there would be a restaurant full of people ordering everything off the menu. Then when I asked if they could make an exception for the one vegetarian we had it was a firm NO. We had to have that option as one of our four. Next is worst case situation where by something out of our control we had to cancel our dinner reservation and made it a breakfast that day just to get something for our non refundable money. I will admit mistake here as I was first sent the contract for a group at a table and that was a $100 no refundable fee and in my rush to put something together I missed that it was different for the private dinning and we were now out the whole cost of the dinner. Now with an additional charge of $250 to change it from dinner to a breakfast on the same day we are set to have some fun. Yes, I asked if they could waive the fee since we all know those dinner spot got filled up and they are now taking in over two grand for average breakfast buffet. They again would not budge. I was told they were losing money. We get there for our breakfast buffet to see that they closed off two thirds of the room from us and we are stuck on one third with the buffet on top of us. No room to mingle and not the whole room which I was told we would have. Head server Kyler was great I give them that, but the food was okay and they ran out of bacon. I expected a lot better as our breakfast is now about $100 per person with no alcohol.More

We were wandering aimlessly on a weekday looking for a place to dine, when we spied the sign for Hell's Kitchen and our adventure started. We descended the stairs and were seated without benefit of a reservation, an occurrence which is, apparently, quite rare. There...is a cool bar and a separate area where live music plays, but for me the attraction was the multitude of Ralph Steadman framed artworks. Turns out Ralph was a pal of the original owner (it's now employee owned ), and thus he is a kind of patron saint of the place. I ended up buying a T-Shirt! Oh, yes, the food was very good as well.More
