Vondie Curtis-Hall

Vondie Curtis-Hall is an acclaimed actor, director and screenwriter. Vondie is currently shooting a lead role in Alexi Hawley’s new series Graymail for Netflix. He most recently finished shooting a supporting role in Raymond & Ray at Apple TV+. The film is directed by Rodrigo Garcia, produced by Alfonso Cuaron and stars Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke.

Vondie can most recently be seen in David Bruckner’s The Night House, which he stars in opposite Rebecca Hall. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Fox Searchlight in one of the largest purchases at the festival. It was released on August 20, 2021.

He can be seen in Blue Bayou for Macro Ventures opposite Alicia Vikander and Justin Chon, who also wrote and directed the film. It premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival on July 13, 2021 and was released in the US on September 17, 2021.

Vondie received attention for his role in Harriet directed by Kasi Lemons for Focus Features, starring opposite Cynthia Erivo and Leslie Odom Jr. The film premiered on November 1, 2019 and has since received two Academy Award nominations and two Golden Globe nominations.

In addition to his Series Regular role on ABC’s For the People, Vondie is best known for his work on Daredevil, Chicago Hope, and ER, which earned him an Emmy nomination.

Over the span of his career, Vondie has appeared in over 40 features – namely ‪Die Hard 2, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, Eve’s Bayou, Breaking Brooklyn, and Cymbeline, to name a few.

As a director, he has been nominated for the films Gridlock’d, Waist Deep, Redemption, and Abducted: The Carlina White Story. His additional directorial credits Include ‪Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart, ER, Firefly, Gossip Girl, Sleeper Cell, The Starter Wife, Boston Legal, and Faith Under Fire, which won the 2019 Christopher Award, Vision Award, Wilbur Award, and Gracies Award.
