Actress Margaret O'Brien is perhaps best known for her role in "Meet Me in St. Louis."

As a child, O'Brien had a seven-year contract with MGM. Her mother wasn't anticipating a childhood career for Margaret — just hoping for a career when she grew up. Nevertheless, her mother and her aunt, Marisa O'Brien, still trained her for the stage and screen.

O'Brien has won several awards for her performances, including a special Oscar for being an "Outstanding Child Actress" for her performances in "Meet Me in St. Louis" and "The Canterville Ghost."

She has also appeared in a number of productions, including "Little Women," "Our Vines Have Tender Grapes" and "Journey for Margaret."

Once she reached puberty, her career declined dramatically. She continued to act sporadically throughout the years, appearing as a guest star in television series such as "Dr. Kildare."
