Visual artist Alexis Stone judges five competing MUAs' creative brief: master of disguise. They also work on Casualty doing special FX make-up for a place in the semi-final.

The five remaining make-up artists dive into the world of special effects make-up. This week’s guest judge is visual artist Alexis Stone, famed for his mind-blowing transformations into a host of famous faces, from Lana Del Rey and Jennifer Coolidge to Mrs Doubtfire and Cruella de Vil.

For their industry assignment, they are on the set of legendary medical drama Casualty. Under the expert instruction of Casualty’s make-up designer, Kirstie Stanway, the MUAs are tasked to create realistic facial injuries using prosthetics and make-up on actors who will be filmed on set later in the day.

With just 90 minutes to get their actors camera-ready, the pressure is on to pull off believable blood, guts, gore, and as the scene description reads that the SAs have been on a night out, the MUAs must also provide the glam! But while some of the MUAs already have experience working with prosthetics, for others, this is a whole new world. For the MUA with the most realistic look, there’s an amazing opportunity to support Kirstie on set later.

The next day at Glow Up Studios, the make-up artists face a Master of Disguise creative brief, where they are tasked to use prosthetics to render their models totally unrecognisable. For the two who failed to impress with their TV make-up yesterday, a spot in the dreaded chairs – and a 15-minute time penalty – awaits.

With a place in the semi-final at stake, the pressure is on for the make-up artists to create their most gag-worthy looks ever – and they do not disappoint! The MUAs' breathtaking transformations include a giant yellow parrot, the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, a Very Wicked Witch and a recreation of the original Frankenstein's monster.

After the creative brief, the two make-up artists who started the day in the red face-off chairs discover if they have done enough to escape the dreaded Face-Off Elimination, a nail-biting technical challenge carried out under intense time pressure on a pair of identical twins.

In this week’s Face-Off, the bottom two make-up artists have just ten minutes to create a high-fashion 90s skinny brow. But who will clinch the last spot in the semi-final, and who will be sent home?
