In 1997 this girl Vanessa Dawn Smith went missing just outside my hometown in Winton CA. For decades we would see the missing fliers outside of grocery stores and liquor stores in the area. It doesn’t sound like the police have much to go on, but you’ll find in the comment section of all of the posts that mention this story on social media that it’s clear the locals and overall public lore has a pretty good idea of what happened. And at least an inkling of who was involved.
I myself am NOT an internet Sleuth. But I respect what communities like this do. And how they intend to help victims.
It’s a case that has always interested me and what I’ve always found unique about it is that there are certain ”families” in this small town that are infamous for being a part of nefarious happenings, that are rumored to be involved in this case directly. Families like the “Wisdom’s” the “Victors” and the “Vann’s” if anyone looks into this and finds it as interesting as me, I would say. Do your thing! I’d love to see her family receive closure.
