Anyone who watched Mary and The Witch's Flower?

I felt it was ok in terms of the story and characters-i liked its Ghibli-esque animation style and the music. Although it's not a Ghibli movie, it reall looked like one, though it really lacked the main aspects of a Ghibli movie, such as depth, a cast of unique characters, a good storyline, etc. It looked like it borrowed things from various Ghibli films too: The magic school in the sky reminded me of Harry Potter and Castle in The Sky, Young Aunt Charlotte looked a lot like Nausicaa, and some other stuff. Overall, it was ok and i would rate it around 5/10.

I think I have watched it and it wasn't splendid

yeah, you can easily tell the difference between it and typical Ghibli movies

I wanted to love Mary and the witch’s flower, for all the reasons you mentioned, but was kind of put off by it halfway through the movie. I’d give it a 4/10, probably wouldn’t watch it a second time. Do you know of any ghibli-esque movies that are worth watching? Always on the hunt for new ones!!

there is a filmmaker called Makoto Shinkai-the artstyle of his movies are different from Ghibli, but the storyline and plots are similar. His movies are visually striking

The Deer King

I watched it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Although it didn't really have as much story as Hayao Miyasaki. It felt a bit rushed but I enjoyed it nonetheless :)
