A Twist of Christmas is a classic holiday love story with a recognizable cast at the center helping to make it a warm winter watch. In A Twist of Christmas, a single mother, Abby Hewitt, accidentally switches her son's present with that of single father, Ryan Cooper's, daughter. Though the pair could not be more different, their children immediately take a liking to one another and plot to get their parents together for Christmas. The two families travel together for the holidays and slowly, Ryan and Abby realize they may be falling for each other. It's a classic Lifetime Christmas movie story.

The film premiered on the Lifetime channel in 2018 and moves at a brisk pace, coming in under an hour and a half. A Twist of Christmas wastes no time introducing the five main characters of the movie and immediately puts them all in a room together to get the plot kicked off. It has all the best Christmas tropes found in Hallmark movies and A Twist of Christmas is still an enjoyable romantic comedy with excellent and cozy set design and characters who feel real. The chemistry between the two leads and their kids is great and A Twist of Christmas succeeds thanks in part to its talented cast.

Lachey leads the cast of NCIS: Hawai'i as Jane Tennant, also appearing as the same character in NCIS and NCIS: LA. She has a leading role in Dads as Camilla Whitmore and Truth Be Told as Tracy. Christian Convery plays Elliot Hewitt, Abby's son and a smart and resourceful young man. Convery only began acting in 2016, but he has already put together an impressive canon of film and TV roles. In movies, he notably plays Henry in Cocaine Bear, Joey in Venom, voices Fregley in Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever, and voices Chase in PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie.
