We went back two days in a row. We do not eat meat. They served us two Crescia filled with chards and cheese. Amazingly delicious. It was 12 Euros total for two of us. Go there before 12. It gets extremely busy.

A tiny pizzeria which shop is half under the ground, but their pieces of pizza are great! We paid only 6 Euros for two pieces of pizza and a bottle of water and ate them sitting on a marble stone staircase at the Piazza Commune....Fast and very tasty!More
This is a hole in the wall for a quick slice of pizza and a glass of local wine before heading back to look at paintings in the Ducal Palace. The pizza and wine are delicious and cheap, several different toppings on offer, and they...also make a local speciality which is like a chapati with various fillings. If it is wet or snowing, there are a few seats inside, but most people stand outside people watching in the main square.More
I have read the positive reviews here and decided to try this locally acknowledged small restaurant. I am vegetarian and wanted to eat a piadina. All of contained meat. After asking the guy (owner?) at the counter if we can get a vegetarian version of...any piadinas he refused it completely. So we could not eat anything and left the place hungry with complete disappointment. The place is tiny, right in the corner of one of the main squares in Urbino, easy to find.More
This hole-in-the-wall type place is an institution in Urbino. Here they made fresh daily, pizza bianca (similar to focaccia without sauce or toppings) and pizza rossa (piazza bianca with tomato base). If you are coming to Urbino and want to sample some of Urbino’s best...pizza at a true pizza al taglio (pizza by the slice sold at small take-away shop), then head to Il Buco and order up a slice of Pizza Rossa!More
Stopped in for a local specialty of the region called Crescia sfogliata. Hard to explain flat bread folded and served with different stuffings trust me it’s well worth a try. They also have pizza which also looked great. . Place seems always busy. Very accommodating...to my beginners Italian. .More
This little place is fantastic. It belonged to the same family since 1955. The place is small but the food is good and this is worth the stop. All the ingredients are local.
We saw how busy it was with locals and students so stepped down into this very small cellar type cafe. We bought freshly prepared pizza and a piadina, plus a bottle of beer, and sat outside on one of a couple of wooden benches by...the door and enjoyed 'people watching' in the square as we ate!More
As we were leaving Urbino we decided to try the local Piadina called Crescia at Il Buco. We were already quite full after eating lunch and ice cream and could only manage one between two people. It's tasty and very herby and comes with a...recommendation. I would though suggest trying it on an empty stomach for the full experience. The lady who served us was also very friendly and informative about Crescia, so ask first before buying if you need any background on it.More
The pizza here is light and of good taste (I had Aubergine) and the location at the corner of the Place of the Republic is just perfect.
This is what seemed a very popular pizzeria al taglio, i.e. where you take away the slices of pizza or where you eat them on a few high chairs in the pizzeria itself. We tried different kinds and the overall quality is very good, in...particular the pizza stuffed with spinach and mozzarella cheese - absolutely delicious. On the other hand the pizza stuffed with mortadella was alos good but definitely lacked the mozzarella! In Rome it would be strange to find a stuffed pizza without mozzarella. Anyway, we have seen this pizzeria full with students which we thought must be a good sign and we can confirm this. When in Urbino and you are looking for a cheap, informal and good meal, head here.More
Most of the restaurants in Urbino don't open until after 7 p.m., so we decided to give Il Buco a try. Located under the Church of Saint Francis, it's a small place that only serves three or four kinds of pizza and seats 6 or...7 people. We ordered slices of the margherita and the mushroom pizza and both were excellent, with delicious crust. If the pizza had been served hot, I would have given a 5 rating, but they were only lukewarm. However, it was inexpensive and good enough that we plan to return to try their other pizzas. When we go back, we'll make certain that the pies are left in the oven long enough.More
A lovely crispy pizza, piping hot. You can sit outside and watch the world go by. A short walk from all the major attractions and plenty of shade on a hot day. Good salads are available here as well.Value for money.
. Simple but nice pizzeria at the center of Urbino. Excellent street food. I tasted the best 'crescia' with herbs (excellent, slightly bitter chicory) and first quality cheese (urbino's casciotta). Fair prices indeed.
Walking in Urbino seems like all they eat is crescia o piadine, so we decide to eat here for lunch..wish I had searched another place. The crescia was greasy and full of oil and really nothing special and expensive. Prefer the classic piadina romagnola.
