Poland student charged after being accused of raping student in auditorium during lunch
A 17-year-old Poland Seminary High School student faces multiple rape charges after being accused of raping a teen classmate in the school’s auditorium during a lunch period, according to Poland Township police reports.
The incident reportedly happened in early December and was reported to school officials on Dec. 6.
According to the report, the suspect was previously physically, mentally, and sexually abusive to her, recorded the rape on his cellphone, and threatened to show the video to others if she told anyone, the report stated.
Police said the suspect gave them the phone with evidence on it, but a parent refused to give the code to get on the phone based on advice from a family member who was an attorney.
According to reports, the victim filed a protection order against the suspect, but it was violated and police removed him from school and took him into custody.
