Wrestlemania 32 is one of the biggest ‘What If’s’ in wrestling history.
I would’ve loved to see another universe’ Wrestlemania 32 - I actually don’t mind the show overall but still there was so many people off the card due to injuries.

I feel like WM 18 might be a bigger what if. The roster is even more stacked than the previous year and yet so many of the matches end up being mediocre outside of Rock vs Hogan.
Wasting Angle on a Kane match
Wasting Austin on a well past his prime Scott Hall match. (it's clearly his worst Mania match after Savio Vega)
Edge vs Booker T is a waste of Edge honestly.
Benoit is out injured, Eddie isn't working due to Drunk Driving charge
Still if I said a Wrestlemania would feature:
Austin, Rock, Hogan, Jericho, HHH, Benoit, Angle, Edge, Christian, Hardy Boys, Dudley Boys, RVD, Regal, Undertaker, Flair, Booker T, Trish and Lita you would imagine it would be amazing and it really isn't
I read that Austin wanted to work with Angle or Benoit at that Mania originally. Obviously with Benoit out it would be Angle, but man that match would've been so good in 2002.
I always felt like WMX8 was one of those Mania's that just doesn't have rewatch value other than one match. It's the equivalent of WMVI for me, which funnily enough also took place in Toronto.
Guess the argument against Austin vs Angle is that they were just off a big rivalry in 2001.
Ah yeah you're right, that went all Autumn pretty much so it would've been quite close.
I mean we got like 2 full years of HBK vs Triple H starting that SummerSlam
That wasn't necessarily a good thing. Great rivalry in 2002 - but it dragged on so long.
They came off a big rivalry, but one that was arguably unsettled. The blow off was their like 12 minute match at Vengeance 2001 with the backdrop of the WWF/WCW Championship unification tournament.
You could have easily heated up their rivalry again.
Alternatively, Angle could have worked Taker with Austin working Flair.
This is a good shout, most of the wrestlers you named competed at Summerslam less than 6 months later and that card is one of the best of all time
Wrestlemania 22 deserves a shut out
Undertaker vs Kurt Angle with Kurt breaking the Streak
Hogan vs Stone Cold
And of course Eddie vs Shawn Michaels were all rumored for this Mania.
And if all three had taken place it would made WM22 possibly the greatest Mania of all time.
I went to that WrestleMania and it fucking sucked. And yet, I kind of love it.
Shield Triple Threat wasn't ever seriously planned i think. It was always gonna be HHH vs Roman
Triple H was supposed to have a match with Rock. That's why he went over Sting.
Roman's originally scheduled match was Roman v Lesnar II.
I think when they started planning the card the big matches were intended to be:
Roman v Lesnar
The Rock v Triple H
John Cena v The Undertaker
All started to go out the window from Rollins' injury.
