Hard on the eyes and put together on what must have been a very small budget, every volume of SPG's Pure Energy series throws together a random assortment of pop-oriented club hits, many of which were forgotten by the time the discs hit record-store shelves. These discs will be most useful to wedding DJs and those who like dance-pop but aren't concerned with really staying current. Though they're cheap in every sense of the word, each volume does have a small share of enduring tunes. The first volume includes Robin S.' "Show Me Love (Stone Bridge Club Mix)," Adeva's "Don't Let It Show on Your Face," Inner City's "Pennies From Heaven (Kevin's Tunnel Mix)," and Technotronic's "Move This."
