I'm stuck in planning! Our trip with teens will be 11 days from 10-20 Dec.

1. For our first leg of trip 10-15 Dec - Ski Lessons, WInter Fun/Experience/Sled - Not going to Niseko as we dont really ski, and read so much of negative reviews about it, be it prices, booked out restaurants, etc. So, planning to head to Furano and found out that the travelling from Chitose is really far!

2. Would be planning for skiing lessons, 2-3 sessions for the teens. Then have some snow activities, exploring, enjoy the snow! Will it be worth it to drive all the way to Furano for the experience? (We will be renting a car. We have drove in winter before)

3. Confirmed places - 2 Nights @ Jozankei for Onsen, 5 Nights in Sapporo for final few days for day trips/shopping/etc.

Would like to hear advice on where to station for the first few days if we are not heading to Niseko or Furano. Is there anywhere easier for travel, not too far from Jozankei?
