Anupama Chopra Film Companion Hichki is a genuinely earnest film made with heart. But it doesn't take enough risks and consequently doesn't touch a raw nerve. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 28, 2018 Full Review Udita Jhunjhunwala Scroll.in At times Hichki feels too righteous...Fortunately the story is strongly underlined by the instances of the resourcefulness of the students and the idea that education should not be a one-size-fits-all concept. Mar 23, 2018 Full Review Namrata Joshi The Hindu Yes there are some laudable issues that are raised here...but the film doesn't go past the facile commentary; a very deliberate righteousness and piety, ingrained in the narrative, detracting rather than reinforcing the significant issue of inclusion. Mar 23, 2018 Full Review Swetha Ramakrishnan Firstpost Hichki would be incomplete without the talented performance of Neeraj Kabi. Oct 10, 2023 Full Review Poulomi Das Qrius Hichki suffers from the same condition that afflicts most films with a social message: a severe case of good intentions that justifies the lack of risks. Jul 16, 2019 Full Review Richard James Havis South China Morning Post Mukerji puts in a spirited performance as the Tourette's Syndrome sufferer and makes her constant verbal and physical tics seem natural and uncontrived. V H A heartfelt movie, must watch. Rani is top rate. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Awesome. But sometimes she had her cha cha episodes too often than other times for example when she's with the school director, she would cha cha more than when she's with her students. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the finest movie of Rani Mukherjee it's must watch movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member In the previous few years, Indian movies have raised its bar. Now I want to watch only those movies that have strong content and socially relevant. Hichki is simply the second movie I actually have seen this year. There's saying that it's one of the breathtaking movies of Bollywood made in 2018 by director Siddharth Malhotra. When I decided to watch "Hichki" I thought that it to be a good funny movie, my expectations were not very high, but I was impressed. This movie gives an example of what we need to improve in our education system. Also, highlights the Equality, teacher's role, motivation and most importantly the patience. It's an inspiring slice of life film that should be watched for the easy sensitive manner within which it's told. It'll also take you back to your school days. All in all, Hichki gets highly predictable and cliched, thus making it lesser gripping. In the last seconds of the movie, I could not believe what I have seen. I was smiling with wet eyes, only a few movies can do this to me. Go and just watch it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member An amazing movie, that makes you go on an emotional rollercoaster, and leaves you feeling uplifted and inspired. Rani Mukerji's superb acting, really adds another level to this movie, and it is a must-see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Very well composed story. Though the Tourett Syndrome is a bit over acted by Rani Mukherjee, she does carry the dignity of the indignation throughout the film. The characters are believable and grounded. Bollywood, being Bollywood does take some over the top liberties with life's realities. Moments with the protagonist's family don't seem natural. Overall the film is a delight to watch with its emotional ups and downs. A journey of small victories and losses in life. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
