MUMBAI: Well known film maker N C Sippy died early on Sunday at a private hospital here after a protracted illness, family sources said.

mumbai: well known film maker n c sippy died early on sunday at a private hospital here after a protracted illness, family sources said. sippy, 75, is survived by sons, raj sippy and ramu sippy and a daughter. raj is a director while ramu has turned producer. he was not keeping well since last six months and was admitted to the hospital recently, they said. he produced several films and many of them were great hits such as khubsoorat, guddi, anand, aashirwad, padosan, sadhu aur shaitan and bombay to goa. the film maker entered the industry four decades ago. most of his films were directed by renowned director hrishikesh mukherji. sippy was later cremated at shivaji park crematorium. pti svs mgs rmt asm pp 11251149 d maharashtra cm condoles sippy's demise maharashtra chief minsiter vilasrao deshmukh has condoled his death. "sippy produced films aimed at pure entertainment that could be watched with the entire family", deshmukh said in his condolence message. his films had a social message, as well as entertainment value, and his contribution to the film industry would always be remembered, the chief minister added.
