This was an amazing trail. Completely paved, easy riding, and bathrooms all along the trail. The weather today on our journey was spectacular. The entire trail was well manicured with all the grass cut. Plenty of stopping points to have a picnic, take a rest, and enjoy the views.
Park at Hurbert Fry Center and rent a bike (sorry no electric). Plenty of free parking. Use https://bikechatanooga.com and buy a day pass for $8. It's the best way to see the city. This trail is on the Tennessee Riverpark so along the way are picnic tables, pavilions, etc.. It's well lit, paved and has water, restrooms and benches. It's delightful. You will pass Boathouse Rotisserie & Raw Bar - great place to grab dinner after your ride (free parking) - New Orleans bbq shrimp is a house specialty and to die for. This ride has bike swap outs all over the city. You can go past downtown out toward the riverbend. I like to swap out in front of Walnut Pedestrian Bridge. Bonus - there's a little ice cream shop there too - "The Ice Cream Show". So much to see, take your time and enjoy! My heart is in TN!!
Our starting point was at the fishing pear parking lot by the Chickamauga Dam. Quite a bit of this walk was behind industrial buildings and I must say that the walk was way noisier than expected. We could hear the traffic from Amnicola Hwy and all the industries nearby and you don´t get to see the river as much as you would think. I personally didn´t like it at all. It may get better once you go pass the Art District, but the section we did, it was completely a city walk, very boring in my opinion, with nothing espectacular to see, but a lot to hear. It was extremely noisy for me and not worth repeating it.
