Mexico and Brazil will contest the opening men's Olympic soccer semifinal on Tuesday with El Tri coming off the back of thumping win over South Korea and the Selecao having just edged past Egypt. Both sides have been fairly consistent with their performances and goals so far, although the Mexicans lost to Japan in the group stage while the Brazilians are yet to taste defeat.

Both know that not only does a place in the final awaits the winner but also that Richarlison, Henry Martin and Sebastian Cordova have 11 goals between the three of them as they chase the tournament's Golden Boot honor for most goals scored.

Here is how you can watch the match and what to know:

Storylines

Mexico: Their quarterfinal match against South Korea was the third time in four matches Jaime Lozano's men scored at least three goals with the Group A loss to Japan still their only setback. Brazil might be unbeaten, but they are not nearly as prolific with Mexico's tally of 14 goals almost double the South Americans' eight. If the Mexicans can pick up where they left off against the Koreans, they will fancy their chances of a final berth.

Brazil: Efficient against Egypt, Andre Jardine's men have not been as prolific as the Mexicans, and they will need to be sharper on Tuesday. Mexico have kept fewer clean sheets and perhaps the South Americans can target that, but few teams will set up as resolutely with little attacking threat than the Pharaohs did. Now could be the ideal moment for Richarlison to add to his tournament-leading tally of five goals to lead Brazil through.
