My hotmail keeps getting blocked. What should I do?

Hello

Every time I try to log in on my hotmail, I get the message I need to confirm my identity (with my other hotmail account) because of too many sign-ins, but I don't get a message of someone trying to log in with an other IP, so I don't really know what to do. Can someone help me please?

Thank you

Dear Jens Schoofs

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to recover your Hotmail email address. To set your expectation, Microsoft account recovery is handled by a full automated server, and we cannot and do not have access to or visibility into any account information. Microsoft takes the security and privacy of its customers very seriously. We are committed to protecting your personal information, and the meticulous account recovery process aims to protect you from any potential malicious activity. For now, let me do my best to help you with the process.

Your account has been restricted or locked because the system has noticed some unusual activity on your accounts such as entering the wrong password too many times either by you or someone else (a potential intruder). To help protect you from potential fraud, abuse & hackers attacks so, therefore, the system has temporarily locked your account. or other quite possibly reason is, the account holder has violated Microsoft Services Agreement. Microsoft Services Agreement Let me ask you a few questions to better understand your concern.

  • Did you set up a security info for your Hotmail email address when you set it up and it's still active?

  • Are there any error messages when you log in to your email address?

While waiting for your response, here are the steps you can try.

1. Go to the Hotmail login page and click on "Can't access your account?"

2. Select "Forgot Password" and click "Next".

3. Enter your Hotmail email address and the characters shown on the screen, then click "Next".

4. Select your preferred verification method (email or phone) and follow the instructions to verify your identity.

5. Once you've verified your identity, you'll be able to reset your password and regain access to your account.

If you are able to reset the password. Do not attempt to login yet. You need to wait for at least 24hours then after that sign in your account again.

Please send us a response if there is any confusion or clarification in our description. Hope I helped!

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Best Regards
