Self check-in your flight at home !
Our check-in counters can be really crowded sometimes and there’s a possibility for you to miss your flight if you are stuck in the queue.
Hence, to avoid such inconvenience, self check-in your flight either via web, AirAsia Mobile App, or at our self check-in kiosks at any available airports.
You might need to check-in your flight at the airport under certain circumstances listed here.
Print your boarding pass at home or download our E-Boarding Pass*
After checking in your flight, don’t forget to print your boarding pass from home. If you are environmentally conscious, you can also opt to download our E-Boarding Pass .
Already checked in but forgot to print your boarding pass? You can always reprint your boarding pass .
*E-Boarding Pass - only available for selected international and domestic flight departures. Please refer here for more information.
Early
Make sure you arrive at the airport early so you are not in a rush.
We recommend the following timing for you to be at the airport prior your flight departure time;
International flights | At least 3 hours before departure time |
Domestic flights | At least 2 hours before departure time |
The above timings are just our suggestions for you to plan your journey to the airport efficiently.
If you need to drop your checked baggage or verify your documents especially for international flights that require an entry visa, it is advisable for you to arrive much earlier. Please take note that queueing time might be longer than normal during peak hours and public holidays.

Get ready for the Immigration Check !
Lining up at the Immigration and Customs Clearance Checkpoint sometimes can be really long, so make sure you allocate at least 15-30 minutes, and have your boarding pass and passport / ID ready.
Hand-carried baggage scanning: After immigration, you will need to perform another security scan for your bags to be carried on board. Remove your laptops, smartphones and tablets to be scanned separately. You must comply with the size dimensions and weight must not exceed 7kg. For more detail on these rules see this article .
Be at the boarding gate on time !
For flight numbers beginning with AK, FD, Z2, QZ, you must be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
For flight number beginning with D7 & XJ you must be at the gate at least 90 minutes prior to time of departure.
Please note that our gates close 20 minutes prior to time of departure. You will be denied boarding if you fail to be at the gate 20 minutes prior to time of departure.
If you plan to do some duty free shopping and to enjoy the various food & beverage outlets at the airport, we advise you to use the outlets past immigration, near your boarding gates. Always check your time and departure gate on the screens and make sure you listen out for announcements in case there is a change of your boarding gate.
