What travelers are saying
- Samuel JCarlsbad, CA74 contributionsMake this the only museum to visit if you only have time for one museum. Besides seeing the ship itself (and the workers working on the ever present task of preservation) the exhibits are incredibly detailed both for the ship and the context you're seeing everything. Buy tickets online first prior to visiting to avoid long ticket windows lines.Written May 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MWeisenselCincinnati, OH200 contributionsWhile in Stockholm, you must devote a chunk of time to this terrific part of town. Variety of shops from upscale to cheesy souvenir stands. - Samuel JCarlsbad, CA74 contributionsThe city hall is an incredibly beautiful building and worth a guided tour visit. Visit includes visits and discussion in the Blue Room (where the Noble Banquet is held) and the Gold room. Highly recommend.Written May 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Chris M308 contributionsThis is a must see in Stockholm, easy to get to by boat from the centre. The site is vast a mish mash of preserved buildings, reinacted ways of life and animals native to the area.
The old buildings are just that and definitely one for the purists.
The reinactments can be great to understand how people used to live. We encountered two ladies who gave an excellent demonstration of how to recycle wool clothing. But this wasn't guaranteed as another actor in the ironmongery shop seemed to be recreating a ghost and just stared at us.
The animals, if they were actually there (some of the pens were empty), we're great. They have a wide variety in large pens. The bears were especially good watching them climb trees or play in the pool with a hose.Written May 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Natasha_VarArad County, Romania104 contributionsBy mistake when going to visit this palace we saw the changing of the guard which was so worth seeing. Two sections were closed when we visited cause there was a preparation of an oficial visit in the upcoming days. The rooms were sparsely furnished, there were many medals, uniforms and some glass and porcelain objects. The ticket included a visit at the apartments, the treasury, and Krone museum downstairs.Written May 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - martinc201083Melrose, UK40 contributionsThis was a great experience on our recent trip to Stockholm. Lots of colourful and interesting food to look at and eat. It had a busy but informal atmosphere. Well worth a visit in a lunchtime.Written April 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Garry BMelbourne, Australia23 contributionsWonderful, modern museum dedicated to photography. Over a few floors on the waterfront there are a number of changing displays covering individuals, themes or styles - displays photography at its best. If you visit make sure you make time to visit the cafe or restaurant on the top floor. The food is good and the views out over Stockholm are magic. Highly recommend!Written May 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tim MMelbourne, Australia48 contributionsIt is a lovely walk from Gamla Stan to Södermalm where Monteliusvagen is located. The cobblestone streets and charming buildings along the way make the walk worthwhile. The panoramic views over Gamla Stan and Stockholm as you walk along Monteliusvagen are stunning. Keep walking and you will come to beautiful Ivar Los Park with its amazing views. This is a great location for a picnic lunch or dinner, especially as the sun is setting!Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Valerie PFort Lauderdale, FL66 contributionsPeople told us that the Viking exhibition at the Historic Museum was better than the Viking Museum so we checked it out and it was pretty neat to see all they had. We spent about an hour and half and probably needed another hour there. If you have time, include it in your itinerary. The rest of the museum especially the Gold room looked amazing.Written March 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Coryy20Port of Spain, Trinidad5,524 contributionsSodermalm is a less-touristy and beautiful area in Stockholm. It was not overrun by tourists when I visited but had a nice crowd that was not overwhelming like Old Town. It's I truly one if the nicer area in the city and the view from there is worth the visit. It has many restaurants and a generally more laid back feel. A definite must-visit.Written August 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
