What decision is best for a good ending with Gale?

Act 3 - Spoilers

Freeing Orpheus or siding with the Emperor. Which one is better to choose if you want to have the best ending when romancing Gale?

This is my first time playing so I don't know what to choose but I am willing to read spoilers for a good Gale ending (hopefully minimal spoilers).

Thanks in advance to anyone that will help :)

Emperor is easiest, and the most pragmatic choice, IMO.

That said, what qualifies as Gale’s “good” ending is up for debate and actually varies a great deal.

Omg I'm sorry I meant a good romance ending with Gale

Edited

Depends on if you want him as a god or a human, and other stuff. Gale has a secondary flag system related to the crown that doesn’t apply to anyone else.

Other than Lae'zel, the companions don't really care about the Orpheus/Emperor choice.

I see, thank you very much

It doesn't matter much.

Freeing Orpheus means that someone has to be a mindflayer. It can be you, Karlach, Orpheus or Gale can explode and save you the hassle.

Gale still loves you if you are a mindflayer and wants a public wedding, though.

The Emperor doesn't require any sacrifice (except dead Orpheus) as he can wield the stones by himself.

Thank you very much
