I am a parent of a Wolverine. As a parent , I am comfortable in sending my student to school because security is top notch there. If any incidents occur during the school day, the parents are notified immediately. Sometimes the parents are notified and the students weren’t aware of anything happened. They are very concerned about the safety of the students and take precaution when necessary. My student hasn’t experienced bullying nor has she seen it occurring during school time. The school has no tolerance for bullying and will take action against any student who is being bullied! I love how many teachers are concerned with the success of each student. They make it hard for a student to fail. The faculty work together to make it a point to work together so that students have a positive atmosphere to work in. When fights occur the security guards and staff come together and get things under control quickly. I’m not sure about the food because my student’s a picky eater but she does eat
I’m currently a junior at Woodside High School on the way to be a senior. I am apart of the women’s varsity basketball and soccer program for all 4 years of high school. I am also in the magnet for Chorus. This is has taught me a lot with dealing with different people and there expertises. My school is an art and communication magnet so you see may talents, skills, and ideas everywhere. Whether it’s the art on the walls, the beautiful voice, harmony of the instruments, the sound of the poetry, or every Monday you see the communications work on the smart board.
I started my high school career during Quarantine, so it was quite a challenge during that year. The teachers were understanding most of the time, but that changed when we all went back in person. There are still a few teachers who are great supporters, but I’ve had many teachers who’d rather take their anger out on the students than teach us the correct curriculum. Many fights have occurred at Woodside, especially in the 2023-2024 school year. Security and the administration have attempted to stop the fighting, but it has not done much to help. The bathrooms are unsanitary, parents don’t usually get involved until absolutely necessary, etc. I have enjoyed my time at this school, as I get to see people I care about and I get to learn, but the environment has made me feel unsafe on more than one occasion.
