My expirience at LR has been amazing I have enjoyed living in the city of Hickory Hickory is a decent college town about an hour north of Charlotte NC. I do wish the school had better parking but, overall it was a great choice they are also, disability friendly I hope you enjoyed reading this and, Go Bears.
I am a new student at Lenoir-Rhyne University and overall, the experience at the University has been very pleasant. The teachers, admissions councilors have been amazing and very welcoming to their campuses. I recommend other students to come out and enjoy the Hickory campus. Thanks!
Lenoir-Rhyne University has been an overall great experience. If you are looking for a school where students and staff are friendly and welcoming this would be a great option for you. This university is a smaller school and so, this provides an easily efficient way for you to always run into someone you know. Since the university is smaller, the class sizes tend to be smaller which allows better availabilty for a student to get in touch with his or her professor. This creates an all around welcoming environment to whoever chooses to attend this institution. One thing that I would like to see change is by creating more clubs and/or organizations. As a smaller school we lack many optios when it comes to diverse clubs. One thing that could be added is intermural sports for individuals who do not want to play at the college level. Another thing I would like to change would be updating the dorms because many have not been updated in years.
The campus is beautiful, food is not bad. Everyone is friendly and the environment is peaceful and diverse. Despite being a Lutheran school, they don't really push for Christian education. Its available if you are interested but for those of us who come from different religious backgrounds/ beliefs its a nice and welcoming place. It is expensive, with full-time students living on campus having to pay 14k-16k a semester.
I have had a wonderful experience at Lenoir Rhyne University. Everyone is very kind and always willing to help where and whenever they can.
Amazing school, I would honestly just keep doing what they are doing. Everything they do is awesome, they connect with students well and make sure they are on the right path.
The professors have given me lots of research and learning experience outside of the classrooms. They connect me with REUs/internships and I get lots of field work experience.
The school is good and the classes are small but the teachers know your name because of how small the classes are but overall the school is good and it is fun once the sports start their seasons because then there are always something going on there
Overall, I really love the atmosphere of Lenoir-Rhyne University! It truly is a family oriented place, with really kind people. The staff are so supportive, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Overall, I would really like to see more involvement of the graduate community embedded in the events and activities at LR. It can be hard as a graduate student to step away from your studies. Having more graduate led activities on campus would be a game changer!
Lenoir-Rhyne University is a great place that feels like home. It provides great opportunities for personal growth and exploration. As a student athlete I am encouraged to be involved as much as possible and I am grateful for that encouragement because it enables me to connect with individuals who I do not have much in common with.
The university is fairly small, and as a result has a very tight-knit community that feels more "personal" than bigger schools. However, administration has an issue with keeping students up to date regarding changes to facility changes or relocations.
Not a lot to do, easy classes and good sports teams. If your not a athlete I would not recommend coming here.
Lenoir-Rhyne University has overall been an excellent experience! Applying to the college, getting in contact with advising and help desks have been the easiest. The campus is beautiful and very enticing. The students and staff are very pleasant to talk to and be around. Although the school is very challenging, Lenoir-Rhyne is worth every penny! The school makes getting your BSN so easy. So far there is nothing about the school that I would change. I would recommend this school to anyone who is serious about their education. Along with a great curriculum, they also have a fantastic sports regimen. Their music program brings students from all over the country to their school and continues to win awards for their skills. There is a little bit of everything for everyone. There are sororities and other clubs for extra curricular activities.
The reason this school is great for me is because of the amazing sports facilities and the great people I have met, some of the study areas are nice as well. There is one nice area called Joe's Coffee which is basically Starbucks but it is a very nice place to study as well. I am an Atheist that came from a Catholic family, so I thought it was nice that they had a church on campus for others who believe in different forms of Christianity but the school is mainly a Lutheran church. The academic side of the school isn't that good in my opinion, some professors don't necessarily get through to students and arent able to make them want to learn. Most that I know have transferred to other colleges.
It's a nice small college, not too small and not too big. The Hickory area is nice to hang out with when going out, as well as if a student is new to the area. You are able to have a good relationship with the teachers and staff, they have numerous amount of student resources to best help the student.
A fantastic university in every way. The nicest, chillest people, truly caring teachers. The problem is the cost. After the multitude of aid I was given, we still came up short by a lot and in response to that, they decided to tell me on wednesday that they were kicking me out friday. That is an insanely low amount of short notice. They gave me two option, an 8 month plan (that has been getting shorter each month, for no reason) that would cost over a 1k a month or a plus loan, where my parent's credit is too bad to apply for. I think it's great college but not 220k great. Also, the dorms aside from mine are also not in good condition while they just spent 22 million on a football stadium so the common student isn't the priority.
Tl;dr Everything about this school except for the instititution it sits under is fantastic. If you plan on coming, have money or have so little money that you can get tons of money and good enough credit to spend money you'll hopefully get in the future.

Overall, it has been a good experience! Housing has been good but the buildings are really dated. Academics are great! Teachers really want for you to succeed and will help you however they can!
